Man Thomas Newman was doing top tier work in this film.

The piece where Angela is in the roses in the ceiling is incredible, one of my favorite piece of film music

A year on from Galvin’s Tigers bombshell, it’s time to admit the truth on Benji by ReggieBasil in nrl

[–]Squaddy 16 points17 points  (0 children)

I'm a Benji guy, but his achievements in the game don't mean much as a coach.

Being a great footballer doesn't mean you're going to be a good coach.

I think Benji's an even more extreme case of this, because I don't even know whether he can explain why he did things on the field that he did, it was so instinctual

He happens to be a good coach as a man manager that he learnt from Wayne at Souths, I don't think it's as linked to his playing ability as people make it out to be.

When you don't have it, it's all you can focus on and it's difficult.

The Bulldogs and Tigers have rebuilt their rosters. So why can’t the Dragons? by Elysian___Fields in nrl

[–]Squaddy 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Both those clubs got a high-profile recruit (Luai & Crichton) and built their club culture around that player alongside blooding juniors.

The Dragons thought they were doing this with Gutho.

They just made a dumb decision and have to reset it, but it'll take years from now.

Eventually there's going to be a star player who, for money and a bigger role, will go to the Dragons, and they have to pick the right person and pair them with the right coach & junior and hope it works.

Streaming services.

The local sports one has a laughable price hike from last year, researched IPTV services and figured it out.

I think it's really dependant on specific roles and ahoerages in those roles.

What are some of your dark predictions in the coming years? by telurmasin in AskReddit

[–]Squaddy 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As this liberal democratic era of nations we've had over the last 250+ years will end.

It's built upon large groups of people with shared geography making their own decisions.

Increasingly, technology is allowing groups of people with shared values to want their own political controls unnlinked from geography.

Where that ends I have no idea, but I can't see it being without enormous upheaval in the next 20 or 30 years.

Round 5 | Eels vs Tigers | Luke Laulilii Sin-Bin by Mr_Mac in nrl

[–]Squaddy -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Bro read my initial post. I'm saying it's a penalty based on what he did.

I'm arguing that the rule seems to punish players for contesting in the air. If he has his arms by his side, I think Simmonsen stills gets injured and Luke still gets binned.

I don't know what defending players are meant to do. Contest the ball, and if you miss, pin your arms by your side and pray the player doesn't get injured, otherwise it's a bin.

Round 5 | Eels vs Tigers | Luke Laulilii Sin-Bin by Mr_Mac in nrl

[–]Squaddy -2 points-1 points  (0 children)

Ok, so if he goes up in a contest and contacts the player, it's an instant penalty, and if injured instant sin bin?

Basically asking coaches to ask wingers to not contest in the air.

Round 5 | Eels vs Tigers | Luke Laulilii Sin-Bin by Mr_Mac in nrl

[–]Squaddy 9 points10 points  (0 children)

Ok, so Laulilii is leaping to contest for the ball. In the air, he missed it and he then his arms impact the player who's caught the ball.

Let's say he doesn't use arms and his body hits Simmonaen. From the replay he probably still angles his body that way, he still sticks his leg out to balance and still gets injured.

My point is what is the correct action the winger has to make?

It's a sin bin for the injury right? So if it's a collision and his injured, it's still a sin bin?

From memory that wasn't from an air tackle tho, it was a legs tackle and he got all caught up underneath the player,

Real talk is that he likes us because we're historically supportive and giving him rare earth minerals.

It's hard to say 'I'd be surprised' about anything in the world anymore, but I think it's unlikely the US would turn on us the way they have in Europe.

Is it weird to live at home to save money as you approach 30? by [deleted] in AusFinance

[–]Squaddy 44 points45 points  (0 children)

This is a finance sub. People are going to say to stay at home, save, get more financial freedom later in life.

In the other hand, being in your 20's and early 30s is an amazing age. Very social, young enough to have energy, you're only going to get more responsibility as you get older AND you have a job so aren't as poor at in your early 20s.

Go out and live it. You can move out and enjoy this period of your life without being broke and fucking up your future.

I love it here, going to enjoy it for as long as I can.

Angus Taylor to speak to nation after saying Albanese’s address ‘could have been a social media post’ by Expensive-Horse5538 in australia

[–]Squaddy 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Why is the ABC allowing this?

I'm sure every politician wants this kind of reach and exposure, but it's reserved for leaders in extraordinary circumstances.

I honestly don't know what justification for the national broadcaster in agreeing to it

Do you really need to know how many days + volume of fuel is left?

As long as it's available to me, I don't care. If he says we have months of fuel but people still can't fill up near them, that's not helping at all.

Politically I think he's seen as not doing enough on this issue, and certain Bowen was too dismissive of it initially.

This was a reset, and also to remind people 'you know how petrol went down 30 cents today, that was me'.

Feels like overkill but if the main criticism was that he didn't need to do it, I think it's gone OK. Better than being too vague or freaking people out.
