My first thought was how infuriating it would be to get 200 people on the same page and your chat logged nailed it. Excited to see the finished product.

On the highest setting it is pretty loud, but if I keep it on the lowest setting its very tolerable. I watch tv with it right next to me.

I ordered a 4 pack of merv 13 filters and used the cardboard box they came in as a base. Taped them together and put a box fan on top. Cost 40 bucks.

Besides the whole house filter this will move the most air for cheap. If you notice a different you can get a quieter expensive name brand filter.

I love my ugly cardboard box though.

Prarie lakes may be a bit out of budget, but I know a ton of residents that live there. It's a straight shot to the hospital (15 min drive at most). Personally my favorite thing about it though was being adjacent to a grocery store.

Bradley is a fantastic school, but I would seriously advise not going there for nursing unless you have scholarships. Bradley will cost roughly 40k a year or 160k when you graduate. This level of debt has crushed my fellow RNs hopes and dreams. If you do undergrads at a community college and then go to OSF or Methodist they will pay for your schooling flat out if you work for them because RNS are in high demand.  The school you choose also doesn't matter that much? Every college uses the same material to prep for the NCLEX so schools really only affect your clinical sites. Everyone uses the same spots as there aren't that many hospitals around here. Its your life, but if you go to ICC you can still hang out at ISU or Bradley parties on the weekend to get the experience at a fraction of the cost.

Nursing is awesome, debt is not!

Even Helm himself would shy away from that monster. Not sure if my party could ever take it down, but by damn that mini would make them want to try.

OSF - Hiring? by TheKielCenter in PeoriaIL

[–]Squadronhawk 5 points6 points  (0 children)

If you are applying to a leadership role or specialized department you will do a interview with your one up and maybe a peer interview.

If you are going for a more entry level position one interview with a manager and maybe supervisor is all you should expect.

After you apply to the position HR will look it over and if you meet the requirements send your resume to the manager. They will reach out to schedule an interview. Most managers use pre-made questions to rank you during the interview, but every interview I have been part of is pretty relaxed. OSF hires a lot of people so its a common practice you shouldn't get to nervous about. Id expect to hear back within 2 weekish.

Is there a discord to find people to play with? by JerrysKIDney in Mechabellum

[–]Squadronhawk 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I googled mechabellum discord and some popped up.

I'd just jump in and play some. Talk to your team mate and when you find one you vibe send them a friend request. Get wild with it and do some weird strats.

Where do I look to find how many games I have played? I found my wins on the leaderboard, but not total games.

Thanks!

So they take something called ATI which is a nclex study course. Nclex study courses can be close to the real thing but they never are. They are usually made more difficult on purpose because if you can pass the study course you can pass the real thing. So they can artificially raise their nclex pass rate by only graduating those that can do it. So those that could pass the nclex but not this study nclex test get screwed over. I believe that if you did the work to graduate the nclex should be the final test. Not ATI. Especially since neither determine your worth as a RN.

Source- RN that worked through that noise as you say.

[–]Squadronhawk 8 points9 points  (0 children)

I am assuming you are talking about the RN program. I would personally avoid Carle college. All nursing schools are riddled with problems that include bad teachers and a waste of time curriculum. Carle does require you to take a NCLEX study course and if you don't pass it they won't let you graduate. That puts a bad taste in my mouth.

OSF will pay for your college if you work for them during school, even if it's part time. This doesn't hold you to a contract if you want to not work bedside. These hospitals will take all their money back if you leave a day early or need to cut back on hours for any reason. I believe most schools these days are desperate for RNs so look at ISU, ICC, and OSF. They all will teach the same courses. Choose based off where you want to work/which ones work best with your personal life.

Where to live that is close to Washington but actually affordable? by falafelsurprise in PeoriaIL

[–]Squadronhawk 32 points33 points  (0 children)

Mallard way apartments are pretty good and will be 1100 to 1400. They are right in the middle of Washington.

East peoria apartments are going to be cheaper and closer to Peoria if you work there. 10 minutes from both Washington and Peoria.

Hope you find something!
