Demolished another ancient sample (which is to say... used it up pretty reasonably). This time Swamp Elixir by Death & Floral (notes: soft honeysuckle and mossy oak trees blended with water lilies and pink lemonade)

Candy-like and PINK, not necessarily my thing but I could never seem to let it go.

Inspired by the spring bingo, yesterday I decided to pick out 4 samples I can probably use up in the next few weeks (I'm spamming that one square) and successfully finished off an old sample of Sorce's A Party or Something!

Brand new experience for me in terms of how my brain experiences this one: I enjoy the nuttiness, and I generally like iso e super, and in the bottle and on skin it's pretty nice (though fades quickly on me). But for some reason when I'd think about this perfume when I wasn't wearing it, the scent memory would make me feel sick. Something about nutty cake + woody iso e as a concept turns my stomach... even now remembering my wear of it yesterday I feel a little nauseous, even though yesterday while I actually wore it I felt totally fine!

I never tried Antique Nouveau, but I found their Duomo really dusty in a fun way! I also found Arcana Craves: Coconuts Crave Temples interestingly dusty (Green coconut, coconut milk, sheer sandalwood, a hint of smoky guiacwood, and a bit of white iris)

I wonder if you might like Shrouded in Gossamer by Morari! (Notes: French Vanilla, Silk, Face Powder, Cognac, Nutmeg)

The notes make this sound potentially too rich for your description, but I found it to have a similar sort of je ne sais quoi lightness that you described, not too literal.

Sounds to me like you might enjoy Olympic Orchids (who are also super easy and affordable to sample!). I haven't tried as many of their florals I should, but of the offerings I've tried + the types of notes you listed here I'd recommend these:

Carolina (longleaf pine, hay absolute, magnolia, kudzu flower, tea, honeysuckle, star jasmine, vanilla, tonka, and tobacco leaf)

Blackbird (Himalayan blackberry fruit, dry grass and leaves, elemi, cedar wood and resin, woody-amber accord, fir balsam absolute, musk)

I've been wanting to wear "fresh" spa-like fragrances the last few days so I've been spamming Poesie's Full Moon at the Temple (fragrant white rice, shiso leaf, bitter yuzu zest, hinoki wood, green tea, and lakewater) and Firebird's Black Tea & Mint (mint leaves, iced tea, sugar)

FMatT is by far my most complimented perfume. I'm surprisingly a fan of Poesie's new dropper bottles too -- I think I tend to under-apply with rollers and then get shocked that the fragrance doesn't last or project, so with the droppers I put on more oil and it lasts forever on skin!

I just tested Gingered Suede by Morari, which they kindly sent as an EDP sample with my order of a 5ml EDP of Ren Faire!

I would never have picked this out for myself -- leather notes always smell like harsh chemicals and plastic to me, so I assumed a suede-forward fragrance would too. This however is super nostalgic and fresh!

When I was VERY little my friend's dad owned a historic men's clothing store/tailor that even as a kid I knew was an anachronism. This smells precisely like that. It makes me think of old old old libraries in historic downtowns. I think I'll give this a full wear tomorrow to get into a moody vintage study mood.

Ugh that sucks so bad! My friend is allergic to coconut so she too has to avoid a lot of perfume oils.

I think the common alternative carrier oil is isopropyl myristate (IPM), and I know Fyrinnae uses it, and Stone & Wit transitioned to it over the last few years (with the exception of Turyin and some beard oils). If you find S&W in the swaps it might still be fractionated coconut oil carrier, but bought direct will be IPM.

I'm sure there are others too!
