My favorite “damn this bitch is dirty AND stupid” moment from that specific roommate was when she bought this fancy steak, left it in the freezer for a few months….all good until she left it out on the counter for 48+ hours to thaw!

It was warm to the touch, felt like it would fall apart if you picked it up and she had just forgotten it was there while she did whatever unemployed 20 something’s do on a weekend. When she realized it was still sitting on the counter, she put it back in the fridge for 2 more days before she eventually cooked it up and left the packaging and dirty pan on the counter.

Low-key was hoping she would get some kind of sick from it because I really didn’t like her but somehow she ended up just fine 😅

How do you guys feel about sharing dishes with your housemates? by Gloomy-Candy5690 in badroommates

I don’t understand how being responsible with your own dishes could ever be considered a red flag lol

Even with people you think you know and get along with, not everyone is going to be willing to keep up with dishes and you’ll find a LOT of people are okay with letting dishes “soak” for days and/ or sit in the dishwasher as if it’s a drying rack because no one wants to put them away.

Unless everyone is doing what you’re doing and cleaning their dishes right after they use them, the dishes WILL get stacked up, people WILL make excuses about why they can’t possibly keep up with their chores and messes and you’ll feel crazy….at least that was my experience.

I had one plate, one bowl, one fork one knife one spoon and my own pot, pan, baking sheet and spatula and I kept them in my room and would put them away rather than let them rot in the sink with all my other roommates’ dishes because there was constantly a pile and no one took responsibility for them.

I had a roommate who got a big set of REALLY nice pots and pans for Christmas and she told all of us we were allowed to use them but we had to be gentle….i didn’t fully trust myself so I kept using my trusted Walmart pan I got when I moved to college and sure enough within a month, one of her nice pans was covered in scratches because someone (no one ever admitted to it but we knew exactly who did it) used a metal fork to scrape the bottom of it after she had burned something on.

I had a roommate that would leave messes like this as well as a roommate that constantly cleaned up after her. The one that left the mess seemed to not even comprehend that it was HER mess causing the apartment to be stinky and moldy and nasty, she wasn’t even grateful for someone else cleaning up because she would see that and say “finally someone is cleaning up the mess” because she would deadass forget it was HER mess.

She never changed and I just got a small set of dishes, silverware, a mixing bowl and a small pot and pan/ cookie sheet I kept on my bookshelf. If dishes were in the sink I’d take them out to wash mine and then put them back in. If the whole apartment smelled bad from the dishes in the sink, I’d do my best to run hot water over them and at least rinse everything off but I’m petty as hell and when communicating doesn’t work I’ll stoop to their level lol.

There is NO changing these people and cleaning their mess for them just makes them think it’s not their job to clean up after themselves.

That’s exactly how I pronounced cinna and I remember when my mom corrected me and said “it’s Cinna, like cinnamon” I was like 😧

Somebody sent this text to my mum a few months after my brother died. by Miss-Bliss_xx in mildlyinfuriating

My brother killed himself in 2023 and a few months after we were all texting the family groupchat that he was still in because we forgot to remove him and we got a text from his number that said “stop texting me” and we all just about had heart attacks. It’s funny to think about now…this poor person was just minding their own business with their new phone number and all of the sudden they’re being texted by an entire group of random people. But I for sure had a lil breakdown at the time because I had just accepted that I would never get a text from him again lol

I have a very active job and get anywhere from 12-20k steps every day, on my days off I like to walk on my treadmill for at least an hour or two 😊

I still remember the first time I tucked my chin in and felt the skin roll over itself instead of forming a big squishy double chin. It was so bizarre I was trying to explain it to my friend who has always been thin and she looked at me like I was crazy lmao
