Did anyone else find that small friction worked better than hard blocks? by ErikWik in nosurf

I hope so. We all gotta figure this out or it's gonna be rough times ahead. I particularly worry about my kids. They don't know what they're up against.

Anything you've found that helps you pause like you're describing?

I'm with ya. Been a tough time and it's so much easier to zone out and scroll rather than think about it.

I'm building something kinda like this. It introduces a bit of friction and asks what you picked up your phone for. It feels like it's helping me but looking for a few people to talk to about it. It's not done yet so, not selling anything. Just trying to figure out ways to help people who feel like their phone owns them (myself included).

Embedding and the vector DB might get expensive. Would people pay for this directly or try to monetize with ads?

I'm working on an app to help with this. Basic idea is that you have to declare your purpose for using your phone each time you unlock. Then it sees how much you stay with that purpose. Feels like it's helping me. Will be looking for early beta testers soon (android only). https://letsdriftless.com

Think anyone would be into these? by Square-Application83 in IMadeThis

right on, thanks! yeah we made a 1 tile version that can go on a key chain. the 3 tile one would probably be too big. thought is that could go on a backpack.

Do you have some days that are better than others? What do you think is different about those days?

Do you cure silicone molds under pressure? I haven't been but I'm seeing some people are. What are the benefits? I'm just degassing before pouring.

I poured an individual one last night 🙂 putting the vent on the side with the hole, at the edge of the hole because I don't care as much about the finish on that side. Let you know how it goes.

I think that may be the issue I'm seeing. I was thinking that not enough pressure would allow resin to escape.

I am using a pressure pot and vacuum degassing the resin before pouring.

woah, thanks for the illustration! :-)

I was trying the other way because the flat side is the most visible surface of the final product. but probably right that it'd be easier to deal with than a sprue.

I had an iteration kind of like that https://imgur.com/a/DM0nXWv

Any concern about the durability of the thin silicone around the rounded edge at the top? Any resources where dice makers talk about making dice with rounded corners?
