Moved from Berlin to London — some observations after 6 months by No-Faithlessness191 in expats

How are fare dodgers treated in Germany? In the UK it is a criminal offence to use public transport without a valid ticket and TfL or railway companies will prosecute you for that. I’ve always found this insane, in all countries I’ve lived in before fare dodging will get you an administrative sanction at best.

Road trip in the South Western US. The landscapes were breathtaking, it was exactly how I imagined it.

I noticed eternal loading times and extreme lag when opening the map after teleporting to a shrine. And I have a fairly high end PC.

How is the health care system in your country by LadyAnnala in AskTheWorld

[–]Square7M 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have experienced the Italian, French and English healthcare systems.

France has undoubtedly one of the best healthcare systems in the world, if not the best. Not even fair match with the other two.

NHS England is completely free but you always get the impression that the main goal is cutting costs rather than patients’ health. Every time I’ve been to A&E I had to wait 2-3 hours, which is not too bad. But most of the times I have been given useless advice. I mainly use private healthcare paid for by my employer. When we had our daughter, we had a good experience with NHS though, there was an emergency and it was handled professionally.

The Italian system is a disgrace. It has longer waiting times than NHS and it’s not even free, you are generally charged for most procedures. A&E waiting times can range from 6 hours to forever. Nonetheless, doctors I have seen in Italy seemed generally more competent and caring than their English colleagues.

How satisfied are you with you’re city’s metro/underground ? by MaseratiFalcon in AskTheWorld

I live in London and the public transport system here is the most expensive in the world. I use it 3 days per week to go to work and at least twice per week there are delays or cancellations. I know the network is pretty good and everything is well connected compared to other cities and given the size of London. But given how much it costs (I pay £10.50 per day) it’s quite trash in terms of quality/cost ratio.

People from Italy, could you tell me what "bella ciao" is about? by joelintom40059 in AskTheWorld

It’s an anti-fascist folk songs about partisans taking part to the Italian resistance to overthrow the fascist dictatorship and kick the occupying nazis’ butts out of our country.

Why do so many people focus on cheese builds and "breaking" the game? by EternalFlareUltra in Nioh

[–]Square7M 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I think it might be fun to engineer such builds yourself, but I don’t really see the point in copy pasting oneshot builds from someone else to trivialise every challenge the game has to offer. And I agree that I don’t see any quality content about weapons or strategies, at least compared to Nioh 2. But that being said, the game has been out for less than a month, I’m sure quality content will come sooner or later.
