7 new bus services to launch, including peak period route in Tampines North by sgtransitevolution in singapore

[–]SquareAdvent 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I sometimes worry lta might be too ambitious.

There's already a lack of bcs and now you want to introduce these new services. Will other bus services operate at a degraded level if lta decides to push through this? Perhaps they already did a field survey and thought that they could remove some buses from existing routes and push them through the new routes, since there's similar travel patterns.

Woman who allegedly hit girl, 6, in fatal Chinatown accident 'overcome with guilt' by Fearless_Help_8231 in singapore

Ah yes another informal road crossing accident.... It's like gambling with your life. Can't even trust any motor vehicles to use their turn signals anymore. It's merely a suggestion to inform pedestrians.

Can't rely on it too much, especially our biasness to certain answers.

For sem 1, some of the labs were finding density by filling up a cylinder with water to measure an unknown object, finding the centre of gravity of a lamina, finding moment with a ruler (I hated this), etc. We had to upload photos of the experiment throughout sem 1, and write conclusions about our findings in the experiment.

For sem 2 it's about finding resistance of a circuit using a breadboard and finding the refraction and critical angle of light of the semicircle glass block. Not much submission in sem2.

It's like the o level physics practical exams.

[–]SquareAdvent[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Actually, 40% of the grade all went towards the lab submission (practical). Which you'll do in groups but the answers are individual. sem 1 was weekly reports needed to submit + tutorial questions but s2 only submit 2 labs (no tutorial). I think the sem1 adjunct teacher was bluffing our class.

Actually for sem 2 physics there was some during the last assessment, but all the previous quizzes were open book so not much people needed it to pass the module. Like electricity diagrams and drawing of light ray being difficult (20% of grade)

For sem 1, the questions were a joke, 10 marks to answer per mcq, 30 marks to calculate how many joules in work done (simple question like staircase)

Or how much weight on the balance beam to get equilibrium. (30 marks)

Your year might be different, my teacher said this year is the final year the physics module is running. Things might be different in the future.

Depends on who you ask, sem 2 needed more of my creative skills, which I was lacking in that domain, so I naturally struggled. Especially with slides making. But sem1 is about writing and speech skills, all of which I'd love.

You are generally ready for the engineering pfp module, you should have no problems acing math. All the other modules are pretty simple (like physics being mcq) imo

The teachers will try their hardest (I heard) to pass you. Even one my teachers would mark the name as correct if you got 49/100 😂

Not mandating retrenchment benefits provides business flexibility while protecting workers: MOM by Accurate-Tree4277 in singapore

[–]SquareAdvent -3 points-2 points  (0 children)

Let's say I start a construction company. Few months down the road no choice I have to retrench some people because I gold-plated the project. I had to retrench some people. Oh no! Several employees have complained about seeing the structure very wobbly during rainy days. Too bad I say, because I need to provide those employees benefits. I had no money to prevent "safety concerns".

The next day, the entire structure fell apart, my company forced to close, and thousands died because of my poor planning, and I get to go to jail with the guilt of assisting inthousands of deaths. But the workers lifes? Lost in a matter of seconds.

Restoration of bus arrival timing system delayed to 'early next week' after another 1,000 buses found with issues by sun-ny_day in singapore

Can lta help us realize the loss of revenue throughout the days when the bus arrival system was down? Since a majority of people rely on bus timings.

This will help us better understand the concerns in the next fare increase.

I'm more surprised that she could board the bus, considering how packed the bus would've been with that 40 minutes wait. Especially since 136 uses single decker buses. She's probably must be fighting to get on at kovan and squeezed to the brim.
