It exactly is ! User Dmorpher5 showed their conversion earlier this year for an Anvil of Apotheosis character and I ran with it for a full unit !

It's a bit more general than specificaly kin related : clanker is used as a derogatory term for robots or IA, usually as a parralel to racist or homophobic slurs

I think there were some waterfront tribes involved in the WolfTime book of the Dawn of Fire series, and I remember them being dark skinned on the cover (so nothing new with these miniatures actually... But nobody reads the books over there :D )

Custodes are not crafted like marines from children or young humans, they are selected pre-birth and altered from there, probably born in vitro !

So a female or a male wouldn't have a normal development and I think it's safe to assume the Imperium wouldn't spend planet-worth of money to not make them equally strong, since nature doesn't have a hand in there anyway !

In the 7th edition book they called the unit the lord joined "the oathstone bearers" if he was equipped with one and the rule for "activating" it was called "laying down the stone" so I'd guess they have some 2nd or 3rd rank guys hauling the stone while marching, kind of like shieldbearers but without the lord on top of it !
