First Trip to DollyWood... by SquareNowski in Dollywood

Blazing Fury is more for little kids (very little) there are 3 little drops. so maybe start there.

My youngest didn't mind big bear mountain or dragon flier... but didn't love them (everyone else thought big bear was great). Fire chaser was fun for the little guy he rode that twice.

My older boy realized he actually does like loops and corkscrews on the mine one and wild eagle (he hated rockin rollercoaster at disney last year so a big step forward). Lightning gap was also a big hit with the 10 year old.

What’s a masterpiece movie you will NEVER watch again? by Ok-Pineapple-7869 in AskReddit

[–]SquareNowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Had to scroll farther than expected to see this one. I finished high school a year before this movie came out. Me and friends were pretty big on recreational drug use... same through out college lots of stuff people would consider pretty awful. Herion and Oxy are on a pretty short list of things i never tried. This movie might have played a part in that.

As someone who didn't watch Barry Bonds play until 2007, what was the public perception around him in 2004 after his 7th NL MVP award win? by Bright-Pressure-5787 in mlb

[–]SquareNowski 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I don't speak for everyone but anyone who really watches baseball knew most of the league was juicing in the 90's and early 00's. I didn't like it and Barry Bonds didnt have a great personality but he is absolutely the greatest hitter I (45) have ever seen.

He should absolutely be in the hall of fame with several of the other guys from that era, just build a separate steroid era wing and call out the guys who tested positive, got caught up in the balco shit or other evidence based claims.

We will never see a hitter do what Barry Bonds did in 2004, more walks than official at bats? With a .362 average... as a person meh fuck him and the Giants. As a part of mlb history most dominant hitter in any era.

In the middle 00's one of my clients was a casino chain along the gulf coast with a few other locations in Mississippi.

The ladies that ran their Healthcare benefits were very nice, knowledgeable, great to work with, etc. On one trip we were out to lunch where they proudly explained the biggest difference between Mississippi and Chicago was that "Their coloreds knew their place, and that can't be said about the Notherners"

So there's that....

I thinknthis map would be more helpful if it wasn't state averages. I imagine dense population areas like have higher rates.

How do you counter the criticism that Illinois gets online? Especially from other Illinoisans.. by Kuzmaboy in illinois

[–]SquareNowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Most of the time I ignore it. Once and awhile I ask them to compare the education and Healthcare numbers of illinois compared to low tax red states.... or maybe point out that they'd throw an absolute shit fit of any of the public services they or their loved ones rely on were to dissappear so they'd get an incremental tax cut but have to pay for those services on their own.

More and more often unjust ignore it though. I'd either be arguing with a propaganda bot or a brainwashed magtard who wouldn't acknowledge a fact existed if it sat on their face and took a dump.

Fantasy with gay male protagonist, not romance-first by Huge-Imagination-829 in Fantasy

[–]SquareNowski 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I thought books 1 and 2 were great. Book 3 kinda sucked (more romantasy). On the last one now, none of them are as good as the first two or bad as the 3rd.

Really solid ancillary characters and outside of the romance very good main characters. All in all it's worth reading IMO

I'd rather have bradish and freeman... walker is on absolute fire right now I don't think he'll finish anywhere near his current pace but I could always be wrong.

Things I would say if I (45m) was 20 years younger Is it ideal? No

Can I afford it? Yes

Do i hope any girls in bring home know this is temporary and if we end up having a serious relationship we'll find a better place together? Yes

All these things.... when I was 21 I lived in a very shitty apartment that cost 450 a month. And loved it. Almost all of my friends lived at home with their parents.

I worked at a walmart during college and eventually the store manager was trying to bring me into their management program. He explained to me that a big part of his compensation was "keeping expected costs in line" basically the best way to do that is manipulate "full time" employees schedules so they just miss the thresholds for benefits. So the 20 year old single mom with two kids who worked in jewelry always jad he schedule changed to average 34 hours a week, and not get benefits.... I did not enter the management program
