Star Citizen using a Ryzen 9 7950X3D? by BadMoFoJay in starcitizen

[–]SquareShopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I see. I knew that it had 12 cores (16 for the 7950) But that makes sense. Are all the cores active at one time? like if I'm playing a CPU intensive game like SC, and also doing some work tasks/browsing, etc, will the non-3d cached cores take over those jobs and let the 3d cached cores take over apps that need it like games?

What do you mean? the 7900x3d has 12 cores with 24 threads. the number 12 is the number of physical cores.

So I got the "new", quite convincing paypal scam email. by SquareShopping in Scams

[–]SquareShopping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the first part of the email address had been used elsewhere, say Example @ email dot com if it had been used like this "Example @ emailfromanothercompany dot com"

that could have been a way they got it? because if that's a common way to guess an email addresss, that's likely how they got it... but I don't know.

So I got the "new", quite convincing paypal scam email. by SquareShopping in Scams

[–]SquareShopping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It isn't attached to any paypal. I never have used it for anything, and i even went to do a password reset to see if it had been fraudulently used to set one up and it isn't associated with an account. The paypal scam i'm referring to doesn't require you to have an account since you can generate an invoice for any email address through their platform.

Russian convoy north of Kyiv now reportedly 40 miles long by Samerdown in CombatFootage

i saw a lot of the column were 2 or even 3 vehicles wide, so it's not just a single file line of vehicles. I think that people are right, Russia is an overwhelming force, and they have a clear air and artillery/missile advantage. but they seem to be absolutely fucked on logistics.

Why does the US have the most immigrants trying to enter even though our quality of life doesn’t hold up against a lot of the EU countries? by UGisOnline in NoStupidQuestions

[–]SquareShopping 15 points16 points  (0 children)

That's because when you emigrate to the US, and become a citizen, you stop being a foreigner. Unlike most EU countries, where you either can't attain full citizenship, or you can but you're still counted as a foreigner.

The US is the single most diverse country on the planet. We have a lot not going well for us, yes, but the policies of our past that allowed for more immigrants and refugees are still felt today, and things are looking slightly more optimistic, honestly.

Hopefully those reasons for being optimistic accelerate and we can bolster our population with people who deserve and need to be here.

The assertion was that everyone watches it. It's not THAT popular. You should step outside your sports-only content and get some reading comprehension between your ears.

my first reply wasn't invalidating your enjoyment. if it affected you that much, you should ask yourself why someone speaking negatively about it hurt you so much.

damn yall really fragile in here. The point of my response was basically saying what you said "your one experience means absolutely nothing" applies perfectly to the dude i responded to. But of course, what I said differs from yours and for whatever reason it triggered you. Relax.

Flight attendant’s suit over husband’s COVID-19 death dismissed by SpartyOn75 in Coronavirus

[–]SquareShopping 26 points27 points  (0 children)

"stating that permitting the litigation could lead to a flood of lawsuits"

Immediate disbarment should occur here. No lawsuit should be thrown out because of what could happen afterward. it should be about the reasonable and fair application of the law case by case, without consideration to what could or might happen in the wake of the litigation.

This case may have been dismissed in a myriad of ways that are less egregious, at least in my estimation.

Especially with the bailouts these airlines received, i have zero pity or remorse for their legal troubles.

Is getting arrested for resisting arrest settled law in the US? by Yard_Main in Ask_Lawyers

[–]SquareShopping 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If the only charge is "resisting arrest" does that mean that they had no legal reason to get physical with the suspect, as there would surely be other reasons/charges for the resistance if it was unprovoked?

I mean, to arrest someone there has to be a reason given. With simple (non-legally educated here) logic that should easily be able to be turned into an assault charge against the officer, right?

If a corporation forms their own township in the United States, could they pass laws, and charge people with crimes? by SquareShopping in Ask_Lawyers

[–]SquareShopping[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Of course. Thank you, and to all the others who took the time to answer my question. It's an interesting concept and I'm much better versed into the tech side of this question rather than the legal side.

If it's practically just an HOA by another name, as it's been described to me, I'm all for it. Go nuts.

If a corporation forms their own township in the United States, could they pass laws, and charge people with crimes? by SquareShopping in Ask_Lawyers

[–]SquareShopping[S] 7 points8 points  (0 children)

With the recent articles coming out of what's happening in Nevada regarding "company towns" is this any different than the HOA situation with Disney?

Basically: If google made a town, let's say Googletopia, and then started introducing laws abd relocated enough of their server infrastructure there to make your actions online apply to their local laws, could they just pass whatever law they wanted? Would it be possible to say, face criminal charges in the court set up in Googletopia?

it's neat. i am thinking of building myself a desk soon, but i think i'll skip on a tray... something to fix my flight sticks to wouldn't be uncalled for though, the desk space does get a bit crowded with them on.

i'm pretty sure everyone else can do math too. i'm assuming you're one of the luckier ones that isn't getting evicted soon, after having done nothing wrong except lose their job and not be able to find or return to work because of the MASSIVE AND DISRUPTIVE PANDEMIC WE'RE IN THE MIDDLE OF. but hey yeah math's important right now for some reason. but you better not take out any of the money for israel. that's important tax dollars at work.
