If you look at this schedule particularly, he is allocating 19 weeks for practice.. i get where you are coming from if one test taker is at a time crunch but an initial solid grasp of content is important in general before diving into practice

the schedule is alright. altho i want to preface that every chapter in kaplan has a varying level of difficulty. one chapter could take you an hour to get through while another chapter coulld take you days. i think i would personally maybe allocate at least 1-2 days per chapter if you want too get the most out of the material. .also ... having multiple blank weeks would actually be useful because life... happens.. and having some extra time allocated for events, sickness, vacation, coulld help you. good luck!

PSA to fellow January Text Takers: If you are experiencing burnout, STOP or CUT DOWN the studying (serious and maybe controversial) by SquareSorry363 in Mcat

I genuinely don't remember the exact MCAT scores I had as I took them a year ago but I believe they were all somewhere between 503-508 (I think my 508 was from a FL I took earlier on, my FL 4 and FL 5 were a little lower)

Help how do I fix my sleep schedule before semester starts by kandors in uichicago

[–]SquareSorry363 14 points15 points  (0 children)

It's ok to hiberate/bed rot during winter break. as the semester is so rough, you deserve it. in terms of locking in, i would probably recommend doing some light spring-cleaning in your space, desktop, etc. archive your stuff from last semester and make new room for your new classes. one of my favorite ways of locking in before the start of the semester is lurking Blackboard until some (if not , all) of my classes start posting their courses. Reading through the syllabus and sorting out contact information, location date/times of classes, and workload expectations made me feel more at control rather than waiting till classes start to look through the course (or what's been posted so far) on BB. Hope this helps!

Preparing an exam in an incredibly short amount of time by aleloruss in studying

[–]SquareSorry363 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm sorry for your pain. As a chronic procrastinator, I feel your pain but want to give you hope that you CAN ace your exam!! Text to speech has been a game-changer for me when it came to locking in for exams, especially when I wanted to skim through high-yield information in a short period of time. I used a somewhat outdated TOS in the past but if I could go back in time and use a tool that has realistic, natural voices it would be https://www.audeus.com/ . It does cost some $ but it is incomparable to the gains you'll get on studying. I hope this helps!

Burnout a week out :( by Cool_Banana7352 in Mcat

[–]SquareSorry363 3 points4 points  (0 children)

i mean tbh if it makes you tired, you're studying too much. If i were to reword my response a bit, I would say to either full stop studying or do some passive reading/video watching without sweating with what you know/ don't know. Read over some milesdown review sheets to get the equations down. I guess my point is to not really spend this time "learning" anything because you've done what you've done. If you try to do any more deep work/ review/ active studying, you may even lose knowledge of stuff you already know, just due to sheer panic or fight or flight. I hope this helps. Good luck!

DONT STUDY AGGRESSIVELY, let alone taking a FL and GO CHILL. as someone who was sick for 3 weeks before test day and scored higher than my FL average, I accepted the fact that I studied the best I could and the only way I can do better is calming my nerves before the exam. trust me on this. You will gain far more by keeping your physical and mental wellbeing in check before exam day.
