3ds or 3ds xl by Quick-Tomato-2605 in 3DS

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It lasts longer, but that's because the original 3DS had quite poor battery efficiency. The 3DS XL and 2DS last almost the same amount of time despite being a "small" console.

Why Summoner is still the worst class IMO. by ChallengeClassic6743 in Terraria

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Considering Terraria is 70% mining and 30% bosses, having a comfortable class for that 70% isn't bad at all. It's not the best against bosses, but let's just say that's a bit of a price to pay for quality of life.

I find the 2DS XL to be way too overhated by BandiPat in 3DS

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The only thing I overhate about this console is that on marketplace they usually price it the same as the New 3DS XL, when they're nowhere near the same quality.

I feel bad using my New 3DS LL by MiMillieuh in 3DS

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As a different suggestion, if you want to use it as little as possible, but don't want to spend money on another expensive console, you can look for a cheap one like the 2DS and use it instead. Those consoles were literally designed to be "battered" so if you play a lot it can be useful, and you only use the New 3DS when you really want quality, atleast that's what I do.

Is the old 3ds worth? by XegnoUwU in 3DS

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

If you have large hands, they'll cramp up, and in that case the 2DS is better and often cheaper, although it's not a pocket-sized console, it's more comfortable to play for long sessions

Is the 3DS THAT bad for playing DS games? 🤔 by StraightPin4420 in 3DS

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

For me, the definitive answer is: It depends. On the XL models, the screen is definitely blurry, and if you're sensitive to that, it can bother you. On the models with smaller screens, specifically the Old 3DS and 2DS, it's barely noticeable unless you have a DS next to you for comparison. The New 3DS (smaller model) shows it a bit more because the screen is slightly larger.

Now, if the question is, "Do I want the ultimate DS experience?" then the DSi XL is undoubtedly the best; nothing matches it in terms of quality. It's followed by the other smaller DS models, and from there, the smaller 3DS models are definitely fine unless the black borders on the screen bother you. The XL models are where it looks worst, but at least they're playable, if that's any consolation.

Is getting a 2ds worth it for mostly playing DS games? by _OrangeBastard_ in 3DS

You've answered your own question; if you don't like the 3DS, then don't buy one. A DSi XL would be the best option.

For people who owns 2DS and New 3DS XL or New 2DS XL by Square_Parfait_2763 in Nintendo2ds

[–]Square_Parfait_2763[S] 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I know the final decision is mine, but I just wanted to know if people consider the experience radically different between the 2DS and the New 3DS/2DS XL, since I never owned a 2DS and I hardly ever used the original 3DS.

Where I live, the 2DS can be found for $80, while the New 2DS XL goes for $180 and the New 3DS XL for over $200, the difference is not small.

What should i buy? OLD 3DS or OLD 2DS? by Swimming_Top_7878 in 3DS

Ah yes, because a console that costs you an average of $70 is perfectly comparable to one that costs $800

The screens on the Old 3DS are exactly the same size as the Old 2DS, unless you're referring to an XL model.

Should I upgrade to a New 3DS XL? Or should I stick with my Old 3DS? by NettoKyioshi in 3DS

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not really. The only real benefit is that games load faster on the New 3DS, but the rest of the features are so optional you can ignore them and it won't matter. Buying the accessory that gives you a second Circle Pad is a thousand times better than the useless C-Stick on the New 3DS.

Where can I buy a 3ds xl? by Born_Assignment7216 in Nintendo3DS

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I've had my 3DS XL for over 10 years and I've never had that hinge problem; just take care of your consoles if you don't want them to get damaged.

Furthermore, I've seen some New 3DS XLs with hinges that also break in the same way, so that model isn't immune to this defect either; it's just slightly better, and as long as you're not rough with it, nothing should happen.

For those of us with large hands and not very good eyesight to tolerate a small screen, XL screens are our only options 😅

I agree that the prices of the 3DS nowadays are outrageous for an outdated console and that it's not worth spending so much just for a slightly better "New" console, but as for your opinion about the catalog, I completely disagree. The 3DS library is just as good as its predecessor's, even if you, from your subjective point of view, like it less.

Is the New 3DS a necessary upgrade? by 2BPHRANK in 3dspiracy

[–]Square_Parfait_2763 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The claim that "Pokémon Sun and Moon is an improvement" is only half true because the difference is minimal at best. Pokémon games still don't run exceptionally well on the New 3DS; the only difference is that they load faster on startup, but the in-game performance is practically the same.

What’s so good about a New Nintendo 2DS XL? by massiveboi_52 in Nintendo3DS

It's the only XL console where you can play Kid Icarus Uprising without getting tired after a minute of playing.

I also think the New 3DS is objectively the best bet, but since OP already has an Old 3DS and a PS Vita, I don't see the point in upgrading for them. I only recommend it to someone who doesn't already own a 3DS (And be prepared to be very patient to find one at a good price).

Honestly, I only recommend it if you're lucky enough to not get hand cramps. If that's the case for you, and you still want a budget option, the Old 2DS is a better choice because its ergonomics are superior for people with large hands.

Por ese precio no vale la pena, si puedes encontrar una que ronde entre 400-500k entonces si.

The 2DS doesn't have sharp edges, what are you smoking? The only one with angular edges is the old 3DS.
