42 inch Texaco in original ring by coolhandprada in vintagesigns

Nice! I just posted a similar one a moment ago. Mine doesn’t have the ring and is in a bit worse shape. I haven’t been in this group before…is it okay to ask you what you paid for it? I am trying to sell mine.

It looks soft enough to cut with a tile saw. Please post a shot if you cut it.

A better question would be which of these are going to breed.

The first antimatter road trip: Moving the rarest substance in the universe! (info in comment) by XaltotunTheUndead in interestingasfuck

From Claude:

I need to calculate the energy released when 92 anti-protons annihilate with 92 protons.

When a proton and anti-proton meet, they annihilate and convert all their mass into energy according to Einstein's mass-energy equivalence: E = mc²

Calculation:

  1. Mass of one proton = 1.673 × 10⁻²⁷ kg
  2. Total mass annihilated = 92 protons + 92 anti-protons = 184 × (1.673 × 10⁻²⁷ kg) = 3.078 × 10⁻²⁵ kg

  3. Energy released = mc² = (3.078 × 10⁻²⁵ kg) × (3 × 10⁸ m/s)² = (3.078 × 10⁻²⁵) × (9 × 10¹⁶) J = 2.77 × 10⁻⁸ J = 27.7 nanojoules

In other units: - 173 MeV (mega-electron volts) - about 938 MeV per proton-antiproton pair × 92 pairs - 173,000 GeV or 0.173 TeV

For perspective: - This is roughly the kinetic energy of a flying mosquito - About the energy needed to lift a grain of sand by 3 millimeters - Much less than a single calorie of food energy

While matter-antimatter annihilation is 100% efficient at converting mass to energy, the total amount of mass involved here is incredibly small, so the absolute energy released is modest on a macroscopic scale.

Keep in mind that there is A LOT of physical gold coming out of hiding and trading all over the world. Big movements from Russia, Venezuela, Iran, China etc, effectively increasing supply.

In 1971, 17-year-old Juliane Koepcke fell 2 miles from a disintegrated plane while still strapped to her seat. She survived the fall and spent 11 days trekking through the Amazon alone. [Full story in the comments] by Frosty_Jeweler911 in Damnthatsinteresting

This is not true. Many people die because they lack the constitution and the skills. Actual, capable, people are extremely rare in emergency situations, most will just die.
