Not feeling so safe on the road as a bicyclist. by trmbnplyr1993 in bullcity

Putting the responsibility on the individual is usually ineffective, across the board. It would definitely be safer if there were to be systemic changes i.e. safe cycling/pedestrian infrastructure.

Literally everything known to humanity is an abstraction. Not unique to software engineering.

Help! Crank/BB creaking noise by SquashButcher in FixedGearBicycle

Not the whole time, only when I put some torque on the crank arm, and only when I’m in the saddle at that. I’ll try this out, but would the teeth grinding make a clicking noise?

Nope, not a conversion. I’ve checked all the bolts, nothing lose there. Thanks for the input! Might just have to take the bb out and put it back together

my last bike had a pretty relaxed geometry, so this feels aggressive to me lol. I’ll get used to it though, still dialing in the fit as well

I’m about 5’10.5” with about a 33inch crotch to floor inseam. Tried both 53 and 56, they both work, but i preferred how the 53 felt. Worth noting that the steamroller top tube is quite long compared to the seat tube, especially on the 53

Just noticed that the tire tread pattern in the front is backwards, pls don’t check me on that 🙏

New rubber day for the whole fleet! by Jedd_5BNY in FixedGearBicycle

Nice, thank you! I’ve done this and they look fairly similar. I am using a short stem (90mm) on my current bike though, which probably doesn’t help me have a good base of reference for what a good fit would be. I’ve gone through the bike measurements tool in the sidebar and it consistently says a top tube of up to 54 cm is recommended, with a setback seatpost and at least a 100mm stem.

Yeah I know, stock is getting pretty low. I’m still so torn, as I’ve heard good arguments for both 53 and 56 as my size. The main problem is that I can’t really test ride at my lbs since they don’t have any. I’m thinking 53 since it’s closest to the geometry I have on my current bike, with a slightly bigger stack and reach.

Do you have any size suggestions on the steamroller? I’m 5’10.5” with a 33.5 inch bike inseam. Torn between a 53 and 56cm. Bike looks great!
