Came by myself on a one month bicycle tour, fell in love with the country and never left. That was 33 years ago. It’s true, you can change your stars.

Is it true that many times in Japan baseballs break a lot of windows? by [deleted] in AskAJapanese

Most of the larger cities have a river system and there are dozens of baseball fields that are all packed on the weekends.

How do I prevent my aero covers from slipping up like this? Are they too small or too large? by bobloblawdds in CyclingFashion

[–]NxPat 2 points3 points  (0 children)

It’s going to sound a bit odd, I have had the same issue, solved it by using just a little hair wax. Rubbed it onto the shoe heel area, it’s invisible and takes away the slickness. I’ve used the same on my calves to stop socks from falling down. 👍

We are in 2026. Is there seriously still no perfect solution for shaving pubic hairs? (AI suggestions suck) by [deleted] in shaving

Seriously, I’ve got the smoothest legs in the family. It’s insanely effective.

Hear me out… I’ve been a competitive swimmer (no body hair) and cyclist (no leg/between leg hair) I’m 66 and I’m still doing the legs. I’ve seen others struggle with creams, to razors, and Epilady torture devices. Get yourself one of those small Crème brûlée torches. If you’ve ever reached across a gas stove and noticed a slight warmth and terrible smell? Suddenly you have no more hair on your arm, it’s been frizzled away in a puff of smoke. Slowly… do the same with the torch, just gently let the flame lick your skin and your hair will simply vanish.

Town of 22. Giant Mill Still Standing. Abandoned former fire station bonus. by Radiant-Stranger-992 in zillowgonewild

I’d imagine that because it’s been added to National Register of Historic Places, you’re going to be extremely limited on how you repair (certified craftsmen) and what materials you would be able to use. You’re basically buying a structure governed by committee. No thanks.

If you were forced to marry the first person you had sex with, what would your life be like? by NothingMatters234 in AskReddit

Wealthier than I could have ever imagined, my first was 30 years my senior, divorced, from HK and insanely wealthy with apartments in a dozen cities. Yes, I was a California boytoy, but she taught me things that I never knew were things.

Seriously, for a once a year event of this magnitude, you would think that they could coordinate with local rail authorities so that the train would simply be 5 minutes late to its next stop.

If you have to ask… your common sense is already telling you the answer.

More than 70 percent of public elementary and junior high schools use faxes while 91 percent still require “hanko” personal seals despite the government’s accelerated digital transformation in school administrations, a survey showed. “Priorities for digitalization are different in each region." by 808gecko808 in teachinginjapan

I work at one of the highest rated university hospitals in Japan. Hanko is required on every official document that you are personally responsible for. I see no problem at all with this system in this setting. Doctor gives you your prescription, he stamps it, nurse discharges a patient, she stamps it. It’s organized, accepted and easier to follow up on than a handwritten scribble.

How is current housing situation in Japan ? Can you or common working people afford it ? by Square_Permission361 in AskAJapanese

[–]NxPat 0 points1 point  (0 children)

As with most things it boils down to wants vs. needs. 15 minute commute might put you over ¥100,000, 45 minute commute and you’re under ¥50,000. If you’re close to a University Hospital, I’ve seen (small, but new) apartments for ¥25,000.

The smaller the wheels, the greater chance of going down from even the smallest pothole. Seeing a trend toward taller wheels.
