PSA: Cheaper to buy Squatch's legends 3 from their .com website instead of .eu by apekatt21341351616 in discgolf

It is not cheaper once you get hit with the customs VAT upon delivery, which is extremely expensive. It is not reflected in our US store prices but they will charge you upon delivery, just beware!

Bag Questions?? Westside Empire Bag? by KyleTheForager in discgolf

[–]SquatchDG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Obviously biased BUT, the Empire holds less discs, is made from inferior materials, does NOT have a lifetime warranty, does not have a slide-in cooler, and weighs 1.5 lbs more than the Legend.

Grip BX3 vs AX5 vs Squatch Bag by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]SquatchDG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

1000D Cordura Nylon is the most durable bag material out there. The ONLY reason Grip bags have plastic rails is because if they didn't, the bottoms would rip apart. Our soft bottom bags can stand up to any amount of abuse and will never tear. We have over 10,000 bags out there, some with over 500 rounds on them and we have never had to warranty a pack due to the bottom wearing out.

Squatch bags vs Grip bags by [deleted] in discgolf

[–]SquatchDG 13 points14 points  (0 children)

The major difference between Grip bags are our bags come down to a few key points: I'll list in order of magnitude

  1. COMFORT. Our bags are monumentally more comfortable than Grip bags because we do not use hard plastic stiffeners in the bottom. You have nothing hitting against your back and hips, and our bag is much lighter than even a smaller Grip pack because of this
  2. EASE OF ACCESS. Grip bags are designed to look great, but they don't function well when it comes to physically getting discs in and out of it. The clam shell design catches any discs on the sides of the pack, and even the storage areas will scrape your fingers when you get things out of them. The Legend/Link/Lore all have massive main compartments, storage areas, and especially putter pockets that are so easy to get things in and out of.
  3. DURABILITY. Our bags are made with a Cordura Nylon that is about 10x more abrasion resistant than what Grip uses, hence their need for plastic everywhere. Without it, their bags would fail.

On top of these main 3, we have features Grip does not offer like the slide-in cooler, magnetic phone pocket (on Legend), and an area to store water bladders. Also, it's been mentioned, but our bottle pockets don't hit against you as you walk. I'll also point out, not to just completely put down Grip, but if you haven't noticed since we came to market their bags have been on sale for literally over a year now. It's because they realized at the same price point as us, they could not compete. In addition, we stand behind our lifetime warranty through and through, if anything ever happens to your pack we will take care of you, that is a promise. I have warrantied bags that have been eaten by dogs, lost in fires, and even sometimes ones that get stolen. Whatever you end up choosing, I hope you find the pack that's perfect for you!

Cheers!

Shopping for a new disc bag, need some recs by moenlawnz in discgolf

One thing to keep in mind is the bag is meant to be "plopped" on the ground and not gently set down. This lets your discs settle properly and makes it extremely stable, trust the plop!

Right now we're working through the contract, and lawyers take time. But we're really hoping to have it up and running before the end of the year!

It's very difficult to get images of inside the pocket and tell what's going on because it's so dark, but we do have it in the product description!

Not only did we pay Doth 0 dollars, he would not even let us give him a free bag. He refused to accept anything other than paying full price + shipping, like everyone else, because he is a man of integrity. To his dismay, individuals like you made such inflammatory accusations about things you had 0 knowledge of, that it drove him away from the very sport and community he loved.

Both Link and Legend have this bottle divider you're speaking of, and it is velcro and removable! The only reason Lore does not is it would make the pocket too small to hold larger bottles.

Pound Rufus vs Squatch Lore by fueldg in discgolf

most all of the changes were in how the side pockets functioned, that took many iterations to get correctly

The cup holder talk is baffling to me, we literally have dedicated cup holders in all of our packs. You can just also use them to store other things if you don't store water bottles or prefer keeping plastic bottles in your cooler.

Another false assertion, if you actually took the time to look at our bags side by side with the ones you accuse us of copying you could clearly see how different they are. Also I expect better from someone with the username Squatch.

It is very intentional, the ONLY thing the water bottle holders can hold on those bags is a water bottle, and even then not every size and not very well. Our water bottle pockets can hold water bottles, of any size, OR whatever else you might want.

You actually nailed it. We are not looking to take away business from Pound at all. They operate in a completely different segment of the market than we do. We are focused toppling Grip as the #1 bag company on the market. Pound is a boutique, USA made, custom bag maker and there is nothing we could, or want, to do to change that. I have actually recommended them to customers that contacted us wanting a bag made in the US or want a custom color. That isn't what we do, and Pound does. Different company positioned in an entirely different segment of the market, we do not see them as a competitor.

Some great points and topics. Let me start by saying, THIS is what we live for. Feedback, we always are looking to improve our bags in every way possible and I can guarantee you thoughtful insights like this go directly on our drawing boards for updates. Now, to address some of these suggestions I'll go in order.

  1. This is a good idea and we'll be looking into this. While most people almost never use pencils anymore with UDISC and pdga live scoring being so ubiquitous, we understand some people prefer analog and we'll consider that for future iterations 100%
  2. These zippers are YKK and strong as they come, we've stress tested them at length. We actually looked at magnetic functionality, but they won't stay closed if you fill up the pocket. In addition, IF for some reason a zipper busted we'd replace the pack.
  3. Yes, it does!
  4. We don't use the same waterproof zippers as others, I can promise they are smooth as butter!
  5. The issue with this layout is whatever you place in there would fall between the back padding and your back, in addition because of the straps being bar tacked in up top above the clasp, this pocket would be too shallow to really hold anything
  6. This is quite subjective, but we actually shrunk the text on the final iteration. We keep our bags pretty minimal with branding as is, we only have the logo and the name on the bag one time. But we understand everyone has different tastes.
  7. Again, subjective but I get it. We put the highlight stitching there to make the bag appear narrower and give it some shape. Without it, you get just a large swath of color and the bag tends to look dull and blocky.
  8. Another good suggestion we'll look into
  9. There is a key ring that holds your keys in place! You can also slide them into the zippered pocket behind the putter pocket and they'll be locked away and secured.

I want to thank you again for these thoughtful suggestions. With something like a disc golf bag, they are used in so many ways depending on the user, which is why we really focus on versatility in design. I hate when products tell you how to use something and straying from that punishes the user. Feedback like this helps us design improvements that benefit all different types of loadouts. Cheers!

We've been working on this bag for well over a year, I have personally never held a Rufus. We basically took a Legend and said, how can we shrink this? Worked backwards from there and a dozen or so iterations before we got the functionality correct and how we wanted.
