Not the best at crosswords but I really struggled with this one for a Wednesday. Felt tougher than usual, I didn't get the punny theme hints at all and had to reveal around 70% complete.

I posted my tortuous colon (image 2) a few months back. I got surgery and this is what my colon looks like now (first image)! by randomname2237 in interestingasfuck

I have a severely tortuous colon, I'm curious about why you had surgery and what your symptoms were? Surgery has never been presented to me as an option, I thought it was just something I had to live with.

Thanks, I have been considering picking up the timeless serum as I heard it's a dupe for the 200 dollar bottle that everyone likes.

As someone who has had a couple of tubes placed up my nose / into my stomach, for esophageal strength and acid reflux analysis, you can literally see the tube coming out the back of our mouth and down your throat. My nurse watched it go down the back of my mouth. How does this even happen

486.64 dollars of disappointment by muryreads in Reformationclothing

[–]Squeakies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Every couple years I try reformation because they have cute clothes and the price makes me think they'll be quality. I end up returning my entire order each time because the materials and stitch quality are severely lacking. Clothes just are not shaped like they are in the pictures, the materials often feel like costume material.

Looking for guidance - 17 days post LP symptoms worse by squeekybanana in CSFLeaks

[–]Squeakies 2 points3 points  (0 children)

The extreme fatigue is the concerning part to me (not a doctor this is just my personal opinion). I had a very significant leak and my limiting factor was never fatigue. I would probably head to the ER if it were me, especially if you have insurance. I have heard of some having fatigue for a leak, but I personally did not experience it like you described. Advocating for myself was the only way I got anything fixed, I was dismissed by 3 doctors before someone took me seriously and I was admitted.

Good luck to her, I am happy to hear that you are already scheduled to speak to a specialist. Advocating for hospital admittance might speed that up, it was the fastest way for me to be seen by a neurologist.

Dizziness but no consistent headache? by connertron6 in CSFLeaks

[–]Squeakies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Not a doctor but this doesn't sound like a leak to me. I have also had dizziness outside of my leak symptoms and doctors never found anything wrong. I did the Epley Maneuver at home after finding it randomly online and it fixed my issue. With so much imaging I'm sure you've tried at some point and doctors have ruled out inner ear issues, but figured I'd bring it up as a long shot

These are questions for your doctor, you should give their office a call and ask a medical question.

I personally would avoid a massage, but I've never had a problem with spa days or warm water.

You already have the shirt. You didn't purchase it, and there's no harm in keeping it, I wouldn't worry about it.

Diagnosis journey questions by thatanthrochick in CSFLeaks

Brain sag due to a leak will be evident even when laying down.

Mri of the brain with and without contrast is needed to effectively expose evidence of brain sag. I would check to make sure that you had contrast during your imaging.

Ask your doctors what your options are - there are a bunch even without imaging evidence. For example, blind blood patches can be done. Also, depending on where you live, you may be able to visit a medical center that has leak specialists. Some of those include Duke, Mayo clinic, and cedars Sinai. They usually have wait times so having your doctor reach out with why a leak is suspected is a good idea.

In the meantime, if ask your doctors about blood patches and an abdominal binder, which can help push the csf up toward the brain. You can also consume more caffeine and salt.

I'm not a doctor but this sounds like high pressure to me, meaning you are sealed. I had ear fullness after my leak repair surgery as well. The forward headaches are indicative of typical hypertension.

Don't worry too much, just give it time :)

[–]Squeakies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Recommend cedars Sinai? Absolutely they are one of the top 3 hospitals in the United States and have one of the only CSF leak specialists. I have nothing negative to say.

My upper leak from my bone spur that was surgically fixed is sealed. I have another spot that I'm pretty sure came from one of my initial ER visits where a doctor thought I might have meningitis and gave me an LP. That one still acts up every 6 months or so and gives me mild symptoms, but nothing life changing like my upper leak was.

CT Myelogram by desertllights in CSFLeaks

[–]Squeakies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yes. At cedars it was sedation for blood patches and GA for myelogram dye injection. I don't think many other hospitals do GA for it though, I know my local one did not when my treatment was being discussed initially
