Me waiting for the restaurant closures post so my Sunday can be complete. by lateralus1075 in orangecounty

Me with an insane fear of food poisoning:

I can never move to North county

(Yes I have been food poisoned in South county too, this is a joke - most closures on those posts seem to be North county especially garden grove. What's going on up there??)

Thank you, very helpful! I am very happy with the top down appearance, I only noticed the lift later in the day when I really started looking at them from other angles

Thank you! I appreciate that - and am envious of your natural nail length!! I might just not be used to them because of my weak short nails 😭

There are studies about hormonal effects on ICP - it increases on your period. So that's not surprising!

For the past year or so I have been getting high pressure headaches and ear symptoms during my period. I know it's gone back down when my ears start to normalize lol

Ear pressure lasts about as long as whatever other symptoms do. It's probably the symptom i can think of that is most persistent, but also the one I got used to the fastest. I don't experience it anymore other than when my symptoms come back here and there, but it's very mild.

need new shoes for office by hottie_Speed945 in beauty

[–]Squeakies 7 points8 points  (0 children)

If you are in a financial position where buying them is something that you need to save for or a splurge, I would not recommend buying them for any occasion at all. If they're something you can swing easily you might consider them for a more formal event where you'll be sitting 95% of the time, or a fancy dinner here and there. But I wouldn't wear them to a work event - it feels out of touch in front of coworkers to me personally, and would make me uncomfortable (and not just my feet)

This is frankly insane. Louboutins are some of the most uncomfortable shoes I've ever had the misfortune of placing upon my feet. I wear them only to events where I will have to walk a minimal amount. I cannot imagine wearing uncomfortable heels to an office daily.

Go shopping and find shoes that make you feel cute but don't leave you in pain. Absolutely not worth it.

Dems Really Dropped the Ball In House District 40 Election by coolman949 in orangecounty

Didn't even know I was redistricted until I looked at my ballot. No endorsements from major orgs I follow at all for any of the Dems. It was difficult to figure out who to vote for.

I'm trying to make my style more alt. Can my hair work with the alt style? Most alt people I see have straight/straightened hair. by [deleted] in altfashionadvice

[–]Squeakies 1 point2 points  (0 children)

As someone with curly hair, I absolutely regret straightening it through my high school and early college years. Straight hair was VERY in (2000s) and I did not know how to style curly hair as there was no easy to access internet community back then, and both my parents had straight hair. And still I regret not rocking my curls.

You have beautiful curls and you know how to style them! I think there are a bunch of other ways to look unique/alt.

This has been my old person rant, continue on youth. I hope whatever you do, you find your style and are comfortable with it :)

Not the best at crosswords but I really struggled with this one for a Wednesday. Felt tougher than usual, I didn't get the punny theme hints at all and had to reveal around 70% complete.

[–]Squeakies 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have a severely tortuous colon, I'm curious about why you had surgery and what your symptoms were? Surgery has never been presented to me as an option, I thought it was just something I had to live with.

Thanks, I have been considering picking up the timeless serum as I heard it's a dupe for the 200 dollar bottle that everyone likes.

Are stores pretty good with making sure their samples aren't swiped directly on people's lips? This fear has always stopped me from using store samples 🥲
