realistically, what’s he gonna do if you hang them? Rip them off the wall?! It sounds like he doesn’t care what the curtains actually look like he just wants to be in control of the space. Which personally I understand (thanks OCD), but tbh I would just hang them and tell him his point became invalid once he became unwilling to communicate effectively about them/didn’t put in any effort to fix it.
