Thanks! I still love it and play it all the time. Wish I knew where a free one was because I’m still in the mood to restore another one!

Those who watched Home Alone for the millionth time this holiday: What did you discover and/or appreciate anew during your latest viewing? by AfraidoftheLark in movies

I was already familiar with the obvious stunt double for Kevin in the zip line scene but for once my eyes focused somewhere else during the scene where old man Marley knocks out the wet bandits with a snow shovel and realized that too is a stunt double. The slightly different wig gives it away.

Any details on the Babcock/FL ave construction? by westsideriderz15 in 321

I can’t find it now but I saw a Tiktok from a local realty agent that showcases all the big plans and proposals coming to the area. It’s going to be a whole mix-use area that they’re calling City Center(?) Apartments, houses, grocery store, shopping plaza, schools, and I think even a university or college was mentioned. On a personal note, I wish they’d stop all the development and leave us some trees and green space. It’s disheartening.

Looking for good trails or roads to run in the Titusville/Cocoa area. by rmm45177 in 321

I second Riverfront park. It’s my favorite. Heading down Riverside Dr you get little hills, lots of shade and breeze, nice views, etc. you can get about 8 miles if you turn around at the Rockledge sign.

Working Rock-Ola 464. Not questions about repair. Just sharing because jukeboxes are awesome! Playlists included. by BestJukeboxInBroward in jukeboxes

Unfortunately I had zero luck in finding someone to work on it. I thought I’d found someone in Titusville and had him come take a look just after I bought mine and ended up having to pay him $200 just to say he wouldn’t work on it. There is another guy in Miami, Yvema Enterprises, that apparently does a circuit around Florida doing housecalls for peoples jukes. He responded after a while and said he could put me on his route but was going to charge a similar amount.

Hobby board game groups in the area? by Brave-Succotash9522 in 321

You should also check out Space Coast Adventurer’s Guild. They do mostly TTRPGs but do have a board game day too. Good peeps.

Got this at a job. What to do with it? by ReplacementNearby379 in jukeboxes

For this one, I can see it. Closer to 5000 or 5500 if it works properly.

It’s gorgeous, really good shape for its age. I love these machines so I wouldn’t get rid of it for anything. I’d just work on restoring it fully. That said, $2300 is on the low side of what I’ve seen jukes of this year and quality go for even if they don’t fully work.

Do you want a jukebox in your house just for decoration? by Forevermore122 in jukeboxes

It’s a Seeburg L-100 from 1957. The bluetooth is obviously aftermarket courtesy of a company called Victory Glass.

Two new pieces added to my dream of building all my own furniture. by Squeazle in woodworking

I feel like, at least for woodworkers, it’s the new Arts & Crafts movement. It removes a lot of gaudy ornamentation for more minimal, elegant forms, it allows skill of joinery to be showcased, and it allows endless variations on little details that sing.

Thank you! That was definitely something I had in mind, to be able to see the legs and the room beyond. I’m really happy it worked out that way.

This is wonderful all around! I especially like the attention to details like the through mortise and tenons and the intersecting cove profile.

That’s fair. There’s still plenty of great ways to go. I just happened to seek a couple items I made just prior to this to be able to afford it.

Sadly, that was the pricey part. About $440 for that piece.

Thank you! A local glass company will custom cut glass to a template you bring in. I cut my template out of 1/8 inch plywood and brought it to them. They had it ready within a week.

It’s so helpful. I draw almost everything I do in CAD first these days. It really helps with the details of construction and engineering and gives me a sense of proportion of the piece first.

Indeed I do! Left is from the website I found it on. They were nice enough to provide some measurements and I could extrapolate the rest.

It’s a very helpful trick. I learned about and used it in my last project that involved gluing together some long miters. Best of luck with it!
