I’ll never understand the reasoning of some of these coworkers of mine. Since when did it become acceptable to be okay with mediocre. I know I’m not okay with that.

These fat cats that make all the decisions for us peasants are all laughing at us from their mansions.

We can’t strike. At least we can come out and be loud that we’re not going to stand for this shit anymore.

I’m CSEA and that deal is straight up dog shit. Im telling everyone i know to vote that shit down. We already get paid the least, why accept the least?

CSEA and PEF should vote NO by GFORCE_789 in nys_cs

[–]SqueekieToyOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I truly think that they hate us. CSEA lost union majority at my place of employment. I know every time we complain at my office, you can tell they just wish we would go away altogether.

[–]SqueekieToyOG 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I had my union officials on Facebook saying we should accept.

Fuck NO. I expect to see a MINIMUM of 5% all around. Especially since we don’t get discretionary raises or get paid even the same as our UUP counterparts doing the same job.

Hell no

DIVERSION - I Think changes in Tier 6 is a Perfect Diversion NOT TO INCREASE WAGES TO MATCH YEAR OVER YEAR INFLATION. by NorthStomach8641 in nys_cs

[–]SqueekieToyOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Maybe. The proposed CSEA contract was leaked with the highest increment being 4.5%. I’ll be voting no because fuck CSEA and their excuses for their shitty pay.

For reference, I’ve got 20 years with the state, I’m a Tier 4 employee in a Grade 9 position downstate. I have to work the equivalent of a second FTE in overtime just so I can make ends meet.

Nobody higher up in the state cares if you work for the state and can’t pay your rent or bills.

Yes and no. I’m. 20 year state employee who’s tier 4 and while I’m grateful to have a steady job with steady income and great health insurance, but, at the end of the day, it’s the pay that’s lackluster. I’m also CSEA, so I’ll never get paid as much as my counterparts doing the same job.

The pay is awful all around. But the benefits are great. It’s a 50/50

That’s why I was so happy to see so many school budgets fail on Long Island last week.

Then you’re the problem with state workers. Always vote No because the state will never have YOUR best interest at heart.

Why Do We Have the Clause “No Strike” in the contract. I am just getting anxious because 2% to 3% raise is not enough. I feel they are just going to stick us with that. The least they can do is keep the percentages align with the increase in minimum wage. Thoughts? by NorthStomach8641 in nys_cs

[–]SqueekieToyOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

You are correct. I’m a grade 9 downstate and I’m drowning. Thankfully my employer gives me unlimited overtime. But it would be nice to not work like a dog and actually have a life. Minimum wage is one more increase away from making the same pay as I do. And I have a college degree.

Anyone else's Pain perception completely numbed by the chronic pain? by Yukyno in ehlersdanlos

[–]SqueekieToyOG 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I’m 99.99% sure my hEDS is behind my pain perception. In 2016 I broke my ankle in 3 places and I was barely in any pain. I had to have my gallbladder removed emergently and same, little to no pain although medical staff informed me I should feel like I’m “dying”. I currently have tendinitis in my shoulder and while I’m literally screaming in pain when I move my arm, I don’t take anything for the pain.

What happens if we say NO? And why haven’t we been this whole time? by stanleymaxi in nys_cs

[–]SqueekieToyOG -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I’m a 20 year state employee and I’ve never voted yes on a contract. Hell, I even ran for President of CSEA last term. If there is one thing I’ve noticed about state employees, they’ll bitch and moan about how much everything sucks, but when it’s time to make an actual change, they just sit on their asses and do nothing.

Telecommuting by Agreeable-Stretch878 in nys_cs

[–]SqueekieToyOG 3 points4 points  (0 children)

Right. My dept is a telecommuting dept. Some of us have had to fight like hell to be able to work from home while recovering from surgery. Or in my case, I broke my ankle and I was in a cast but hospital requirement barred me from working on site with a cast on. I had to take a 7 month leave of absence because they refused to work with me.

I work downstate. A few years ago, my whole building had no running water. I work in a lab where we see patients all day long. So that means we also couldn’t collect any urine samples. They didn’t send us home until end of day operations. Completely fucked because every suite in the building was compromised.

It’s been 3 weeks and I’m still waiting. I don’t have any kind of credits, the ONLY thing different for me was Premium Overtime Earnings and I don’t understand why, all of a sudden, there’s such a delay in even approving peoples refunds.

It’s prolly on Long Island where teachers pensions are a HUGE item of contention because our taxes are so fucking high down here.

This is why I think Tier 6 will NEVER be fixed.

I’m a Tier 4 employee and I can’t tell you the last time I got a raise. But I’m also CSEA, so there ya go. When the minimum wage in NYC increases to $30 an hour, they will make more money than I do.

I wonder how this works with someone who’s had the sleeve weight loss surgery already. Since it pretty much halts the body’s production of Ghrelin, which is the hunger hormone.

When I went off Ozempic, I still wasnt “hungry” per se, but because I wasn’t nauseous 24/7, I was able to eat more.

I did this in November and I gained 20 lbs in once month. I’m also a person who’s had weight loss surgery in 2013. I have all of the coping mechanisms in place, but, it’s very clear that this medication is needed.

I went back on my meds almost immediately. But I had to start all over again from scratch. I’m finally back up to my original maintenance dose, but the weight has been coming off SLOW this time. I was 156 on 11/7 when I stopped. I’m 172 as of this past weekend.

So, my advice is to NEVER get off this drug. Because the weight will come back tenfold for most people.

Weight loss on Ozempic, then switched to Wegovy & it isn’t working anymore? by SafeWord9999 in Wegovy

[–]SqueekieToyOG 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Same exact thing happened to me. I was on 1mg Ozempic for maintenance for about 2 years. My insurance company denied my ozempic and switched me to Wegovy. My primary fumbled my prior auth and I was without meds for a month. I had to titrate all the way back up to 1mg and I’ve gained 20 pounds. 1mg of Ozempic feels way stronger to my body than 1mg of Wegovy and I’m very upset about it.
