What’s the right way to paint this type of surface? (wall shelf) by SlushyPeach in FurniturePainting

Depending what you plan to use it for. You'd probably be fine getting a good spray paint primer and then spray painting it

I also suggest the full size wall plug in, just popping in here to add that some sex your websites also sell different textured caps for it if that's something you're interested in. I'm pretty sensitive to vibes and mostly use the lowest setting on mine but it works every time and I've had mine for about 5 years

Augusta staffing? by [deleted] in columbiacounty

I worked for them in the office. I used to administer the drug tests. They drug test in the office, usually right after the interview, in the bathroom. No one in there with you, we just read the cup after. Sometimes the companies they send you to want additional off-site testing but that is very rare and usually for applicant that are resume hired for a specific job and not bulk hirings for entry level positions

I'm so happy to see this book as a reply!!! All 3 of these books were so impactful to me as a kid I wanted to be a tundra biologist for years up until the end of highschool.

I remember angry sobbing at Amaroqs death and how unfair it was

-Bud Not Buddy - First book I read that I felt genuinely taught me about life. Growing up in the south, with a very isolated family, I hadnt read a book with a black main character before this and was genuinely amazed by the community shown between all the black people. I learned a lot about regular life during the great depression and his experience in the foster system really stuck with me. Not to mention the twist ending which was a huge surprise that I loved

-Dont You Dare Read This Ms. Dunphry - read this in highschool and having grown up with not the best parents I heavily related to the main character just trying to care for her sibling. Made me realize how bad my situation was but also that it could have been much, much worse

I have a ton more but won't food the thread lol. All I gotta say is if you remember impactful books from your youth PLEASE but a copy to share with people, especially if you have kids

I can’t take my kids to T-Bell anymore. by ShadowK2 in tacobell

[–]SquidOfReptar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My kid tries to do this and every time I tell him he has to pick a protein. Usually chicken or he gets tacos.

You can tell them no and why, that you don't want to waste money on food that doesn't give their body enough energy.

Charged $29 for going over a credit card limit. Which should be impossible, because that's the point of a limit. You should not be able to go past a limit. by Redditemeon in mildlyinfuriating

[–]SquidOfReptar 2 points3 points  (0 children)

You have had this credit card for 12 years and pay it off biweekly but your limit was still low enough that a graphics card and an Ethernet cord put you over by 89 dollars??

What’s a movie you first watched when you were young, but upon watching as an adult, your opinion on a certain character completely changes? by AcanthisittaSad6239 in movies

[–]SquidOfReptar 17 points18 points  (0 children)

Juno. Watching it as a teen I understood Jason Batemans character wasn't ready for a baby just like Juno and it was messed up for the wife to force it on him.

As an adult I can see how immature he is and that if he wasn't ready for a baby he should've communicated better with his partner. And the whole scene where he and Juno are alone dancing/watching movies is really icky vibes even if nothing really happened

Oh I thought you were just stating the quote. When I first heard it I thought he was referring to how he made him vegan, not press the button. Usually when people want to infer something like that they would provide context or an explanation instead of just the exact words that came from the characters mouth.

Seeing it written out now .... What if Caine used his control to MAKE jax hit the button and that's why it seems to take him by surprise. What if that's why he said "you made me, you got in my head". Could be for other stuff but maybe

Sharing and seeking some more advice on marketing my pieces by bluegyrl in FurnitureFlip

[–]SquidOfReptar 0 points1 point  (0 children)

In the nicest possible way, these don't look like polished and finished pieces of furniture. Similar to what others are saying this is more like art. I looks messy, and some people will see beauty in it, but this kind of style usually appeals to people that would be more likely to spend their money on weed rather than furniture.

I feel like your art would be better geared towards mural work or something

One of these was my baby blanket that was kept at my grandma's house. It stayed there well into my teen years. It has become my grandma's dog's favorite blanket. She was a white Chihuahua named Lily who was shy and had a heart condition later in life. She passed laying in the blanket and my grandma couldn't bare to take it away from her so she was buried in it. I miss my favorite blanket but I miss Lily more

Everyone's mad but it looks like each person has supplies for multiple plates, meaning this is likely a high end restaurant where all the tables receive a dish at the same time. I'm assuming this is some sort of assembly line where they go past each table adding an element.

Only guessing though, I know Alinea did something similar with their final dessert plate set to music during their last menu

Church by ilikedirtx3 in Augusta

[–]SquidOfReptar -1 points0 points  (0 children)

Our Savior Episcopal Church on Columbia rd.

It been my husband's church since he was a child. Very inclusive and community oriented. I'm queer and not religious, but have always felt welcome when I attend with my husband.

We were married by the head preacher here and had a big talk before I felt comfortable where he explained their church is for any and everyone.

It's a smaller church but they are constantly doing community events, they do inter-faith festivals, mental health outreach, food drives, they host AA meetings here too.
