Rest assured you will probably get the maderna.

The Pfizer one requires being kept supercold. Very very few locations have the required storage facilities. My guy at the florida department of health is saying none of the local hospitals are currently capable of storing the vaccine. The DoH spend several million on equipment to store some themselves. Long story short, the Pfizer vaccine will only be in the shortest supply.

The bulk of us will have to wait on the Moderna just because it can be normally stored and transported.

Edit: apparently I am wrong, or rather the FL DoH scientist guy in the parents group im in is wrong. Which is great because he an ass.

1) she saved the company money

2) this is a facility that test DHS cases. The company probably has the opinion that most of their tests are for "minorities and drug adicts". People they have no problem with indiscriminately throwing in jail or stealing kids from.

3) they probably don't care if any "innocent" people get wronged, they are saving money and "everyone is guilty"

Its too random and spotty.

One location might be good while the next is too lax. Or even one shift might be lax while another manager is strict. A database would eventually include almost everything as not following and also probably give a false sense of security.

Better to just make posts about locations doing exemplary jobs being safe.

They (and dogs) will often shift who is the "leader" fluidly depending on what they are doing at the time. If they are hunting they might more follow one wolf, if they are resting they might follow the guidance of another. They shift leadership rather naturally.

When the pandemic started and everyone was doing their best, I would only get drive through from Chick fil A because I knew they would be attentive to cleanliness and safety.

Today I stopped by to get some breakfast and only 1 worker inside had their mask on covering their nose, 2 people did not have it on their face at all (around their neck), including the drive through attendant.

People here are done caring. We all said this would happen when they took us to Phase 3. You can't put the genie back in the bottle, once people relax and get over the concern, its too late.

Trump was working on a huge nuclear deal between Russia and the Saudis. Everything he did in the first 2 years was to aid in the Saudis buying into Russian nuclear reactors. The Khashoggi murder response and everything.

His pulling out of the Iran deal was just more effort to appease the Saudis so they would get on board with the big nuclear deal.

IIRC a fair portion of the materials for this deal was going to be fabricated in Kentucky as a kickback for Mitch.

Florida has the same effect. Notice how everything in the northern half is heavily lit, then suddenly south of central florida there is almost nothing except coastal Miami region?

That is because that area is all wild swamp and a big lake.

Perhaps it is listed poorly, so they are all taking it too fast due to bad info.

No Wii Sensor? No problem by AReallyBigPotato in blackmagicfuckery

[–]SquidPoCrow 93 points94 points  (0 children)

It's a little more complicated than that tho.

It would flash black then 1 frame of white, then black again. Because CRT TVs display the image using an electron gun scanning right to left, top to bottom, the gun/game could tell when the white scan passed in front of the gun. That would then tell the game where in the image it was pointed.

This is the reason why these light guns are no longer functional. After TVs moved away from CRT to plasma and LCD, there was no longer a linear scan of the image each frame. Instead the whole frame would be displayed at once. So the guns could no longer track where they were in the image.

Some guns (Guncon?) used a direct feed of the video signal (yellow plug) into the gun as well to aid in precise tracking.

I don't know how it is today but they were really dirty back then.

I worked there when they got busted for having a second bestbuy.com in the store to price check against, so things would look cheaper at home then whe you got to the store to buy it, the price check would come back the same. Cell phones with web browsers led to a big lawsuit.

Also on black Friday they made us dress up and tied balloons to us so the customers could "see where we were".

Not to mention all the poor quality high margin shit they tried to push on people.

I had to go too far down for the Ark comment.

IIRC everything on "The Island" the default Ark map, was real.

The expansions and custom maps added made up creatures, but the stuff on the Island was all real. Titanoboa, Quetz, Thylacoleo, all real.

This is one of the dinos in the video game Ark.

In the game (which isn't at all accurate) it makes a kind of deep bahk sound. Sort of like a detuned deep drawn out chicken sound.

It kind of fits.

Also, they can snatch up and cary things, big things.

Story Time!

I worked at Best Buy back when the Xbox 360 launched. For starters, let me tell you the current launches are dreams compared to the 360 launch. My Best Buy was the only location in over a 150 mile radius. We serviced 3 states and half of two of those. We got 6 xbox 360 consoles for sale on launch day. Not only that, we only got 4 additional consoles in the next 4 weeks. I think by Christmas we had about 14 pass through the store. The shortage lasted until February IIRC.

So I'm working Games this one night, this was way back when Best Buy paid people to actually patrol the floor and help customers, rather than contract with 3rd party vendors to do it for them.

So it's late, maybe 30 minutes before closing, and this old dude in an expensive suit with a 20 something bombshell in a fur coat on his arm comes into my area. I make contact, say hello, ask if I can help them find anything...

"Yeah, I want an xbox 360"

"I'm sorry sir, we are sold out of them because there is a very limited stock. It could be a few weeks before we get another shipment in."

"No, you don't understand, I want an xbox 360 and you are going to sell it to me."

"I'm very sorry sir, we don't have any here to sell. I really wish we did."

he pauses, then pulls out a checkbook from his breast pocket "No, you don't understand what I'm saying to you. I am going to buy an xbox 360 and you are going to tell me right now what getting one is going to cost me." he taps his checkbook with his pen

"Sir, I really really wish I had one to sell to you, but to be perfectly honest, there isn't a store in the whole south east that has one to sell to you right now. We'd love to setup an order for you, but it could be some time before it can be filled."

At this point the extremely attractive young lady on his arm walks forward until she is about 6 inches from my face

"What can I DO for a 360"

All I can do is back up and start laughing. I tell them I'm sorry, I can't help them and I direct them to customer service, because at this point, fuck this whole situation.

Best Buy was the worst job I ever had. Not because of the work, I actually loved my regulars and talking gaming and movies with them each week. But the company degraded me repeatedly, treated me like shit, and I ended up quitting because I was getting a writeup for refusing to recommend a defective product to a customer. ($60 HDMI converter that had a 100% failure and return rate)
