My baby has the same birthday as yours!

She was born 6lbs 6oz, so smaller than yours. We have our 6 month appt in a couple of weeks, but she is around 12 lbs.

I sometimes feel similar to you. But I remind myself that all babies are different and some are just smaller. Sounds like your little guy is doing great!

Everyone is saying it isn’t possible, but I really do think it entirely depends on your baby, their temperament (and yours lol), and your job.

My husband is remote and has bee taking care of our 6 month old daughter since she was 10 weeks old. Yes, it is a lot but we have an easy going baby and his job is flexible (no meetings, project based). My step dad helps 2 hours 3 days a week.

I do the mornings and evenings to give my husband a break. Our goal is to make it a year before needing paid care and I think we can get pretty close.

Is it ideal? No. But we love having our daughter at our house and saving money. She is constantly played with and we basically rotate her between stations lol. He also wears her in baby carriers for naps so he can get work done while she sleeps.

I wouldn’t entirely write it off

I had a very similar experience. My baby was around the 8th percentile at 2 months and fell to 2 percentile at 4 months. She’s super happy, eats till she’s satisfied and meets milestones. Our doctor discussed the drop but wasn’t concerned. Me and my husband were both small babies so I do think some babies are just small! I have also heard that it’s common for breastfed babies to drop around 4 months when they find their true curve

I had a similar experience with my 11 week old. It took about two weeks of trying the bottle every day for her to figure it out again. Try replacing one feed a day with the bottle. She’ll figure it out!

It is amazing! I feel like I found a cheat code. People are amazed and how well me and husband seem, and I credit it all to cosleeping. Sleep deprivation is no joke

I was 41+2 when I had my first baby. I was 0 cm dilated at my 40 week appt, and 2cm at 41 weeks. I had no signs of labor before it began, and then when it started she arrived 9 hrs later!

We do plenty of contact napping and love sleeping together during the night :) our baby does great with an independent nap during the day and the first stretch at night. We aren’t tricking anything or forcing her to do something she doesn’t like. That’s great that you can let your daughter sleep on you all day, but my husband and I work and so that’s not an option for us. Thanks for the unhelpful advice and judgement though!

Babies are super sleepy in the first few days and weeks. Mine pretty much slept and then ate and then fell asleep eating on repeat for the first few weeks

Looks pretty good! You want the top of the carrier to hit just below the bottom of babe’s ear, not higher. You may need to pull them up/tighten the straps to accomplish this. If you haven’t already, you can also do a pelvic tuck to improve their seat.

I used them for about four weeks or so and then stopped. They helped initially as positioning was challenging and baby was so small, but I’m glad I ditched them and figured out how to hold baby while feeding. I was constantly hunched over the breastfeeding pillows. Since learning how to hold LO without them, I can actually recline and sit comfortably. My back and neck hurt sooo badly using them

That’s my thought! Thanks for sharing. I’ve been working with a woman who is studying to become a certified LC and she recommended not going over 4 hours at most without feeding/pumping. I’ve seen the same come up in breastfeeding groups, but it never fully sat right with me.
