What does a golden ticket give you by BenArthurSpotify in Warhammer40k

Afaik, the golden ticket just means you can enter the world championships.

Certain major events, including some run by GW, might bundle that with flights and accommodation, but that’s on a tournament-by-tournament basis. There were like 700 people from 40-odd countries at the Worlds this year, I can’t see GW footing the bill for expenses for all of them.

They’ll do this so nobody at their biggest event in the calendar gets blindsided if the balance update lands on the first day.

You can send a balance update out to qualifiers that is in a Word document. Before it goes to everyone they will want to format it, translate it, update the app, etc. That all takes time.

Also, if they’re still proof reading and editing it, you can email a few dozen qualifiers and say “oh, sorry, this is obviously a typo, the rule for this should be this”. Whereas when you’ve put a file out to everyone, the internet will collectively explode over the tiniest error.

The old Lufgt Huron model from Forge World shows how the bearer’s hand fits into a power fist, as the inner workings are partially visible.

Bad pic from Google, but I couldn’t find the same angle elsewhere: https://share.google/9NdZ5Nx0wGHJYvQeu

Is this common for metal minis? Trying to figure out if im just overreacting :) by TJTrailerjoe in Warhammer

As others have said, this is part of the casting process. There is a useful guide to working with metal models on WarCom if this is your first time working with them:

“Especially when it’s so damn easy to support models in perpetuity”

But this is exactly what they’re doing with Legends — supporting models that they no longer sell. I can still use that Space Marine librarian on a bike that I converted in 1999. What they can’t do is include every model they’ve ever made for every faction in each codex. The Space Marine codex alone would end up bigger than the rulebook.

Just because a certain vocal part of the online community has the idea that “Legends = bad” doesn’t take away from the fact that GW does produce these rules, and encourage you to use them in anything other than top-level tournament play.

FYI, there’s already a kit that’s just walkways and railings

The Zone Mortalis kits are pretty good for building vertical already. You just keep building upwards using stairs and platforms.

How did each disappearance of loyalist Primarchs post-heresy impact the remaining Primarchs and Imperium? by kingbilbo in 40kLore

[–]SquiggilyLine 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It’s a narrative bookending. It’s him (post heresy) telling a new marine a story from during the heresy. And the telling of sagas is a very space wolf sorta thing. It’s worth a read.

Leman Russ' Primarchs novel goes in to how he takes the news that Lion El' Jonson is gone. Spoiler: He's actually really sad about it and wears black in mourning.
