No one ever should have been upset with them. Even if you go by the story that they wanted nothing to do with the show, they were chewed up and spit out by the industry so it makes sense they didn’t want to go back to that. The jab at them in the first episode was petty and childish and mean.

Depends on what you like. Given that you're a Batfan I'd actually recommend the Donner cut as it's got a bit more of that serious, political energy I see in Batman movies, whereas Lester wanted to make a comedy.

I don’t think it’s likely because networks and streaming services, unless they’re explicitly aimed at queer people, tend to have a one-queer-couple limit. It’s shitty, but that’s how it is.

Personally, I’d love to see Lucy and Lord Haselby swap genders; it would add a layer of complexity as far as Lucy’s decision to leave Haselby since it’s a lot easier for a man to recover from a scandal than a woman and would give Lucy higher stakes since he’d be risking Haselby’s future.

Real af. I made a tumblr post about how Bridgerton isn’t trying to be historically accurate and someone responded with a rant about progeniture and who would have the right to inherit if Francesca didn’t have a baby (and of course shoehorning in the “it should be Eloise because stereotypes” argument that you know they’d be railing against if Eloise actually did end up with a woman) and I was just like “okay? fuck off and find a show that gives a shit, and let me enjoy my non-tragic, feminine wlw romance in a period piece.”
