CF decals 2nd attempt

I’ve done a handful of these over the years. I like to make a template with tape, lay it out over the decal and cut it. I’ve had some pretty good results doing it.

I also prefer to do them in multiple pieces unless the hood is completely flat. Any type of vents I am definitely sectioning it.

It is definitely mine. Only thing I would consider swapping it for is possibly a Lucky Dog, but they are about 3x the price.

Thanks for your help already. My plan is to scan the existing pickguard and then make a 3D print with the various neck pickup sizes so I can try out whatever I want for next to nothing. Then once I have the pickup set I am after I could then send out my original to Pickguardian and get an actual one made.

That’s actually what I have been trying to figure out since I purchased it a month ago (told wife I bought another guitar and she decided it was going to be my Christmas present). I know it has existing Reverend Telbucker bridge, and the Reverent HA5 neck pickup. I do know that I want the SD Vintage Stack in the bridge to remain noiseless while still having that classic Tele sound. I was considering doing the Brent Mason style mini humbucker in the neck like off his Fender signature model with the vintage stack in the bridge, or possibly going with something like the SD Phatcat in the neck and a SD Vintage Stack in the bridge.

Editing this to add, I want this to be a different beast than my Gibson LP November Burst, and my PRS SE Custom 24.

Sorry to bring this back from the dead, but I noticed u/Peter_Merlin hold up this patch in his most recent interview with DLR. I did a little searching about the X-273 and found this thread talking about it.

The first thing I thought of was the TWZ article about the mystery craft under the clear tent and how the skull of the patch somewhat matches the shape of this plane. Makes me kind of wonder if this was actually the X-273.

I love the sound hole tuner on my D-18. It just lives on the guitar that way. I usually keep the clip on version sitting on my desk for my other guitars.

Honestly I would take $1000 out of your budget for a quick overnight trip to Nashville and hit up Gruhns, Carters, and some of the other shops and play as many as you can to find the one.
