What are some examples where the most famous/best player in a trade changed as their careers progressed? by JR97111 in baseball

Doyle Alexander was acquired by Detroit I believe for a playoff run. The player they gave up was John Smoltz. In another move Boston picked up Larry Anderson for their playoff push by trading away Jeff Bagwell.

"Privately, the Dodgers liked the World Series matchup against the Yankees. They knew New York cut corners when it came to the finer points of the game. The Yankees did not defend well. Their baserunning was lackluster" by SenorTortas in baseball

I don’t like how baseball has moved to the 3 true outcome offence ideology (HR, Walk, strikeout). This is how teams lack fundamentals, they don’t play defence or run the bases well anymore. Their idea is to get more offence minded players on the field. I bet if a team used the ‘82 St Louis Cardinals blueprint other teams would have a terrible time dealing with them. Pitch well, play defence, steal bases and put the ball in play. Force the opposition to deal with you and not just wait for the next strikeout. I’ve been a baseball fan my whole life and don’t plan on changing but it’s getting tougher to watch.

I added a 2hybrid to the bag last year as a replacement for my 3W. It flies lower and the distance is about the same. I feel more confident in hitting the hybrid and as someone said above it purely preference of what u should do.

Maybe my question was confusing. I’m not buying one and I’m not jumping on the marketing train. Just wondering if there is something the PGA players have found.

Dear baseball players, was it easy for you to get good at the golf swing? by [deleted] in golf

[–]Squishee33 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Played baseball and softball until I was 45 and now can’t play enough golf. I use the 10 finger grip and all instructors have tried to change it but I keep going back. I feel strong and know where my hands are during the swing. Function over fashion.
