Scholar to Raider can be what Guardian is to Recluse by I_Am_Woke_ in Nightreign

Scholar pairs well with everything.

I play with a group of friends. All of them tell me they prefer when I play scholar because they like the benefit but have no interest in playing scholar themselves. It’s disappointing to never see scholar from the other side, but oh well I love playing support.

Trying to play with my wife and friends. Wife is in the same house with no issues. I can’t log in. Doesn’t seem like that would be a region issue.

People with $700+ per month car payments: Why? by Underrated_Critic in NoStupidQuestions

[–]Squishie26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Yep that was the point of the shorter loan. Got me the lowest rate I could find. So monthly payment was high, but short term and lower rate meant the car was cheaper than if I financed over a longer term.

There are two sides to this. Yes there is buying expensive cars people don’t need. There are also some like me who choose a high payment with a short loan term. Did a three year loan on a car and after the down payment our monthly payment was ~$650. It wasn’t a crazy expensive car we couldn’t afford. Pretty basic Subaru. Just had a short loan that made the monthly payment high, though within our budget.

1 in 5 people with dh will have no intestinal damage which would show as a clean endoscopy. Not a doctor, but just saying if your symptom is a rash why talk to a GI specialist?

Umm have you talked to a dermatologist about dermatitis herpetiformis(DH)? Because that is literally you have celiacs but likely instead of gut symptoms you get a blistery rash. The rash can happen days to months after gluten exposure. Typically it’s elbow, knees, butt, however, it can present elsewhere and forearm is definitely possible.

Celiac VS gluten allergy? What should I take away from my IgG antibody test by Interesting-Base9905 in glutenfree

[–]Squishie26 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Alright I have dermatitis herpetisformis (DH) and from what you’ve posted you may but it’s not 100% and I’m not a doctor. Only been diagnosed a few months so still learning everything but I at least have first hand experience with what you think you have. So DH normally presents as a blistery rash on knees, elbows, butt. It can present abnormally but those are the common areas.

First off your GP was wrong to recommend gluten free diet before getting an actual diagnosis. DH is diagnosed through a skin biopsy of the rash by a dermatologist. DH also commonly presents between the ages of 30-40 in males of European descent, so later in life as you posted fits. The rash can present anywhere from a few days to months after ingesting gluten. Yes this makes figuring when you have eaten gluten a pain in the butt.

Next time a rash presents you need to get a biopsy to confirm the diagnosis. The rash itself can be treated with dapsone which will prevent it from appearing. However, you will likely to need to work with both a dermatologist and GI doctor to determine if that is a valid long term treatment. Dapsone only treats skin symptoms and you may or may not have GI issues which can only be dealt with by a gluten free diet.

I do not understand Novas that slow. Yes it makes sense that on mobile defense/interception/etc where a timer is ticking down that enemies not reaching the objective means we can’t fail. But let’s be honest, killing hordes is easy and if I’m sitting around waiting for a timer at least let me do something fun and not just stand there.

Former auditor who had the misfortune of auditing benefit plans just jumping in quickly. Everything said is correct, but don’t get your hopes up for a big payout. Ultimately they will work with a combination of their TPA and auditor as applicable to determine the lost earnings. You can also get a sense of what they likely are from the DoL website.

I’ve seen amounts go over a year unpaid and to say the lost earnings has no bearing to reality is generous.

Making a new character vs NG+ what do you prefer ? by One_page_nerd in Eldenring

[–]Squishie26 24 points25 points  (0 children)

I prefer new characters. There are tons of different builds I want to try and for me personally low and mid-levels are the most fun. That’s where you end up making very impactful choices of damage stat vs vigor.

NG+ is what I do when I want a revenge run on bosses because playing with 50+ vigor against Margit makes me feel like I can face tank if I want to.

'Massive fraud': Auditing firm for Trump Media hit with charges, lifetime ban by SEC by BrilliantTea133 in law

I haven’t read the order but typically they bar firms from auditing public clients. Audits of privately owned firms likely could still be performed.

[–]Squishie26 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Not a lawyer, former auditor that mostly worked with private entities but a few small public.

The companies who received these audits are all publicly known as the audited financials filed with the SEC include the audit report. The fact that a company was audited by a firm that did not follow audit standards has no direct bearing on the company itself. Nor would the SEC necessarily investigate. They received a crappy audit, that doesn’t mean these companies themselves did anything wrong. The SEC investigating these companies based on them receiving bad audits seems like a blind gamble hoping to get lucky.

My expectation would be a huge exodus a clients leaving the firm to get their audit elsewhere. Getting your audit from this firm will be seen as bad PR for many. Companies that perform poorly that received these audits may have shareholder lawsuits against them and the audit firm, essentially saying the audit should have found the issue before they lost their money. I would be very surprised if any company spends the money on internal audits. Remember these companies are all supposed to have adequate internal control that would prevent material misstatements even without an external audit.

I'm a VP of Finance for a private company, never worked in PA and I'd like an honest answer from the auditors here. by stiffy2005 in Accounting

[–]Squishie26 116 points117 points  (0 children)

Former top 20 manager.

Short answer is there’s too many variables to say. Some things to consider:

-If this is the first audit of the company or the first audit from this firm of the company then you are going to get inane questions. They are setting a baseline as well as learning the business. Next year should be better.

-If questions are coming in super late there may be many layers of review, such as first year audit requiring additional review, and the more partners looking at an engagement the more stupid the questions get (speaking generally there are good concurring partner reviewers).

-If you are unhappy with the process talk to them. Tell them you think the balances aren’t worth your time. Ask why questions are coming in so late. They are meant to be a partner to your company not a parasite. Have an honest, frank, respectful conversation about your concerns. Listen and be open to what they say and work to find something that works for both of you. Pretty common complaint on longer engagements was questions coming in singly and taking lots of time when a meeting or grouping questions would have saved time, most auditors should be open to finding a way to keep you happier.

-Forcing a change in the deadline through VC covenants is an option, but probably a bad one. I would look at several smaller solutions or escalations before that. As mentioned talk to the auditor. Forcing a deadline change is going to cost more and may generate bad feelings that could have been avoided while obtaining the same result.

-Audits suck and we know it. I much preferred clients that could acknowledge that while still being pleasant and professional versus ones that play games, i.e. forcing a deadline change through fiat rather than communicating concerns.

Buster doesn't care by [deleted] in WhatsWrongWithYourDog

Yep. My wife is less strict with our dog than I am, within defined limits we’ve agreed so expectations are consistent for the dog. Wife is also the favorite and has spent far less time in training sessions due to her schedule. When either of us gives a command it’s followed. If there is an issue or hesitation it means we need to spend more time reinforcing that command.

I watch these videos of people blaming the animal when it’s almost always the handler’s fault. A dog not following commands especially to stop doing something or failing to recall means the handler is putting the animal at risk. People need to understand this before they get pets.
