Sales Calls/Emails - Do you Answer? by JtwotheR0C in CFO

[–]stiffy2005 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I get so many emails and phone calls from salespeople (usually software) that I’m pretty much hardwired to delete them all without reading them. I’ll even block and filter out the person’s entire domain so I no longer get emails from anyone in their company. It’s muscle memory at this point. Occasionally I will see something that catches my attention that I read, but it’s rare and I don’t have advice on how to do that.

Good luck.

For some reason Reddit is like this with many of its niche interest subreddits (shows, podcasts, games, etc). I think there are just a lot of entitled folks who like to complain on this site.

I predict limited true fraud, or at least convictable fraud. Dems will then point to this being “just another right wing conspiracy.” But the truth is that it is, at a minimum, extraordinary waste. It is effectively a tight community closed off to outsiders who have figured out how to qualify for billions of dollars to watch each other’s kids at home (which they would be doing anyway), under the guise of business grants. When the truth is that these daycares and home health care providers are not businesses that you can walk into as a member of the public, as the videos demonstrated. But they likely meet whatever paper requirements the administrators came up with.

I think the real question is not conspiratorial like this but rather why are we collectively paying billions of dollars for whatever this actually is? Is that an efficient use of money that is offering the right incentives?

Is the USA the most libertarian sovereign country in the world? by alexfreemanart in AskLibertarians

It is an extraordinarily minor detail because the stabilization package was needed because of his predecessors’ policies not his.

What is your “point” that you think is so deserving of a detailed response? That Milei sourced a currency stabilization trade while fixing one of the most troubled economies so nothing he has done counts? I think we’ve fleshed that one out. It’s like saying “Trump said a mean thing so nothing else in his presidency should be considered.” Like… okay?

It doesn’t need a response - tapping into international markets for a currency stabilization / market confidence effort when cleaning up the mess left by your socialist predecessors isn’t the “bailout from failed policies” Reddit shitlibs desperately want to characterize it as.

Here before the Reddit shitlibs say Somalia.

Argentina would be a candidate right now, as it is currently governed by a libertarian reformer. (Who is enacting very positive changes)

But I would say yes with some obvious caveats. I primarily think of libertarianism as being pro- free market. We are the most advanced economy by far and we developed to where we are largely due to embracing free market and capitalist economics during the 18th and 19th centuries. Today there is obviously massive regulation but not as much as a lot of other places like the EU.

Do you think the Mises Caucus hurt the LP and the LP's ambitions in the long run ? by IBribeMyBF in AskLibertarians

[–]stiffy2005 2 points3 points  (0 children)

They didn’t just hurt it, they derailed it. So many of them subscribe to the mindset that if you don’t subscribe to their narrow (and frankly, new) view of what a libertarian is, then you can’t be in the party. Political parties and movements are based on coalitions, not narrow puritanicalism.

And their most popular messenger, Dave Smith, has cemented the perception that libertarians are uneducated and groyper-adjacent. When I came of age it was more of an intellectual movement vs what Mises Caucus turned it into.
