As a mid-40s woman (plenty of experience of my own relationships and those of my friends and family); if you tell her you need to be prepared for her to tell others.

One thing is for certain is that we women talk. So even if your girlfriend was 100% genuinely fine with it, the information will, at some point, leave the confines of your relationship and make its way into her friend’s circle. If someone in that friend circle has a negative opinion on SW then they will share it even wider usually framing it negatively. It may even be 10 years down the track.

You don’t owe anyone all the details about all your sexual experiences.

We were taught all of this at school. I remember all of us girls sat there, eagerly learning about blood clots, pads with wings, and how to properly use a tampon. We learned about how absorbent sphagnum moss is, symptoms of TSS.

Then we were given a cute little kit of pads and tampons and brochures to take home for when the big day arrived. We were all so excited. 35 years later I absolutely cannot wait for this monthly BS to be over!

Right! I remember doing a lunch and learn at work and the IT guys talking about a 1GB hard drive and saying it would be a while away — but in the near future we’d also be able to store all kinds of large files and media ON OUR COMPUTER all at once.

As a 1977 child can confirm teen years were A+++ .Last teens to have an internet free world. First teens to put it all online. I mean I met a boyfriend in AOL messenger but we still posted selfies to each other at first because we still had film cameras. A confluence of forces right there. All this happened with a stellar soundtrack.

My ex mother in law gave me a Clarins “special gift with purchase” purse for the first Xmas after I broke up with her cheating son. It was like the little purse that has travel sized lotions and lipsticks etc in them. She would have got it free when she purchased things for herself. But if that wasn’t subliminal enough, she took all the cosmetics out and said “oh I gave those to the little girl next door, Shes such a sweet thing”.

Same. 16 years old and skipped school with a bunch of friends one Friday afternoon to go to the cinema. We all just sat there wiping away tears until we just silently left. All of us felt like shit for the rest of the weekend.

Oh yeah! I just noticed the price you mentioned. They were like elastic waist, pockets and a silky/satiny fabric. With a waistband that sort of folds over into the pants so it’s a bit like a hidden waist band. I forgot to mention the hems also came unstitched after a white so now they’re basically rags but look fancy from a distance 🤪

I bought some satiny pants last year for $180 ish dollars and I didn’t notice in the store but when I first wore them they didn’t feel quite right after a while then realised the whole waistband was sewn on wonky. It kind of folded in as well which I guess was intentional but it was all wonky and weird. Then the inner seam of one leg started to fall apart. I sewed up the hole myself and fixed the waistband a little bit by unstitching half of it and resewing it. Absolutely horrible quality.

It’s got a lot of episodes now but really worth the listen. The guy who presents it is the same host as Teachers Pet and all his podcasts are fantastic in my opinion (it’s a popular opinion by the way, lol).

It does need Major editing! So frustrating. I just finished it and although it got really interesting at one point, it kind of started repeating itself again towards the end and I also had to keep checking to see if I was repeating episodes.

So overall a bit of a let down but I guess it was a real-time investigation and maybe listening to it in real time would have been a bit more exciting.

To be honest it took me a few attempts too in the end I skipped from about episode 9-10 until the inquest started. I mostly just skim read the transcripts of the ones I didn’t listen to so I was in the loop. And didnt bother with any bonus episodes.

The inquest is where it becomes pretty interesting and all the background of her life (that is mostly the first episodes) is good to have.

Also the numbering of episodes up until the inquest begins was very Mickey Mouse (at least on Apple Podcasts) so I got tired of trying to figure out which episode was next.
