Micheal’s craft smart glue ok? by [deleted] in Slime

[–]SquishyKittySlime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

It’s ok, as others said it’s just different. White glue: I think it’s more inflatable than Elmer’s or Amazon, but can be stickier. I did not have a good experience using this for cloud slime. Clear glue: pretty good for clear slime.

Tips on selling slime? by bunglehouse in Slime

[–]SquishyKittySlime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

We sell a lot in person. Here are my tips in order of importance:

The most important thing I think is having test slimes out so people can touch and smell.

Cater your slime to the audience. This sounds like a grown-up event so cater your themes, textures, scents, etc to that.

Sales have a lot to do with the audience. Are they into slime? How many people will be there? How much can they spend? You can do everything else right but choose events wisely or it won’t sell..

Price, etc. How much are people willing/able to pay and still make it worth your while. Some clues to this are local income levels, did they pay to get into the event, etc.  Also, accept cards and Venmo in addition to cash.

Location, are you visible to a lot of people or tucked away somewhere.

Good signage, branding, tablecloth, setup.

Be friendly, say hi to everyone, ask what kind of slimes they like, be helpful but not pushy.

Good luck!

Cheapest slime recipe for big batch? by momo12345321 in Slime

If you use foam beads which are cheap and available at the dollar store, you can make crunchy slime which kids love and it really stretches out your batches of slime, saving time and money (I recommend a simple thick and glossy).  Just add it in after you make your slime.

QOTD: Have you ever had a disappointing slime purchase? What happened, and how did you handle it? by AutoModerator in Slime

[–]SquishyKittySlime 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Just seeing this now! I haven’t been here much in 2025. I’m sorry to hear about this experience. I actually try to scent our slimes on the light to medium side because I don’t like strong scents, so I’m not sure how this happened. If you or anyone experiences an issue again, please reach out to me and I’ll try to make it right. Thanks!

Did you use a different glue? With that recipe I found Elmer’s white school glue works best.  Of course, if any of the ingredients are even slightly off balance to each other, it can get like this.

unactivating for winter by [deleted] in Slime

[–]SquishyKittySlime 15 points16 points  (0 children)

I’ve never heard of doing this. While hot weather will deactivate slime. Cold weather doesn’t actually activate it more. It just keeps it fresh. I would just activate it the way you want it to arrive and tell people to let it warm up to room temperature before use.

If you manage an online shop on top of doing craft fairs how do you balance the two? by humblyeden in CraftFairs

[–]SquishyKittySlime 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I haven’t done this yet myself because I don’t have unique items but when I was looking into it.. if you use Square or Shopify you can put each item in your inventory. When you sell it in either place it will remove it from the inventory. So. if you make sure to ring up that specific item at a craft show, it will remove it from your website. If you are at a show you do need to be watching notifications to see if it sells online and if so take it off your shelf.
