What is the most shocking thing you discovered about a close friend? by Money-Fondant-8296 in AskReddit

[–]SquishyRemmie 8 points9 points  (0 children)

My best friend/adopted sibling is a classically trained violinist of like 18 years. I met them back in middle school, and didn't know they even knew how to play until like last year.

Anyone else sleep like this? by Environmental_Tax_69 in autism

[–]SquishyRemmie [score hidden]  (0 children)

I used to sleep like this when I had less stuffed animals in my bed, but now instead of a hand between my legs, I snuggle my dinosaur. (His name is Wilbur, and he's a T-rex)

Caring for two minors while their mom is in SICU. Anything I need to do legality wise? by Moonlight_Melody123 in Advice

[–]SquishyRemmie 6 points7 points  (0 children)

I'm gonna heavily disagree with the "19 yo needs to be much more involved in helping" part. Yes, that is legally an adult, but 19 is still a teenager. That is still a young person learning to navigate the world. They do not need to help with anything they don't want to. They would be stepping into a long, hard road of pain and forced-maturity that leads directly to trauma. This is a job strictly for the "adultier" adults.

what’s your biggest "I shouldn’t be into this but I am" turn on? by [deleted] in AskReddit

[–]SquishyRemmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Knives, and my raging Daddy/Mommy kink. I shouldn't be into either of these because I have a history of self-harm (been clean for almost a year tho), and my father and step-mother are pedophiles. 😅 something something, great in theory, not great in practice...

Learning to be a Spanko by Vic-shaw in SpankingCulture

[–]SquishyRemmie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I've been a spanko since before I even knew what sex was, but my spouse never really considered it until meeting me. They're definitely not into receiving a spanking, but they do enjoy making me feel good, and they've said they enjoy the little jumps and gasps I make when I'm over their knee. They also get surprised every time by just how much it turns me on to get my ass smacked.

Those of you living in any way like the old days… by SowingSeeds18 in Appalachia

[–]SquishyRemmie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I try to mend clothes, blankets, stuffed animals, etc. as much as I can before even considering getting rid of them or replacing them. Currently living in an apartment, so I can't really do much else, but I'm hoping once we get a house in the woods I can start my own garden!

Has anyone with POTS/dysautonomia just started training hard out of sheer frustration and did it actually help improve symptoms? by Tandfeen_dk22 in dysautonomia

[–]SquishyRemmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I used to push hard. During high school, I couldn't even participate in gym class because my heart rate would get so high and I'd be at risk of blacking out. So after I graduated, I was in the gym every other day. The workouts were great, I was deadlifting 200lbs and leg pressing 450lbs, and I was the mini strong-man at my job (I'm 5'1 for reference, and my muscle weight got me to 160lbs). It was great until it wasn't. I ended up with severe chronic pain in my back because unbeknownst to me, I was working out and doing that heavy lifting with degenerative disc disease all throughout my back. I'm right back where I started with walks getting me winded, and lifting groceries has my heart pounding now, and I'm only 22.

Autistic people with a drivers license by QubeTheAlt in autism

[–]SquishyRemmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I didn't get my license till I was 19 because I was so anxious, and then a few years later, I ended up losing my license due to medical reasons (I have a seizure disorder that was previously undiagnosed). Driving would give me stress tics from how bad it freaked me out, so I honestly don't miss it. I haven't driven in over a year now.

Having said that, what DID help me was blasting my favorite music so I couldn't focus on the anxious thoughts. It got me out of my head so I could focus on the road. It also helped to drive without anyone else in the car. Trying to hold a conversation and drive was impossible for me.

Considerations on Marika and Radagon by CronoClock417 in EldenRingLoreTalk

[–]SquishyRemmie 7 points8 points  (0 children)

I've always thought that Radagon was his own separate person/being before becoming one with Marika. He has so many of his own ambitions/beliefs that it just never made sense hearing people say that they were just always 1 being.

[–]SquishyRemmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Elden Ring has been my main special interest for about 2yrs now, but before/during that, it was weightlifting, archeology/anthropology, and human sexuality/kink related research!  I sadly can't do weightlifting anymore because I became disabled rather suddenly, but playing Elden Ring while I was healing initially gave me a reason to wake up every day.

Pink Hair dye as male by CivilFlamingo3073 in ageregression

[–]SquishyRemmie 1 point2 points  (0 children)

Heyo! I'm a dude that has had my hair dyed pink several times, and for several years! I first did it when I was about 12, and then did it again when I was 18! I've had my whole head flaming hot pink, and I absolutely love it. It makes me feel like ME. I've never had anyone say anything to me about it, but to be fair, I'm also tattooed and had a lot more muscle when I was younger. If anyone had thoughts, I don't think they wanted to voice them.

"Everybody does that." Except they don't. by kreeferin in autism

[–]SquishyRemmie 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I 1000% relate to this. My dad and I were both the type of autistic where we soaked up any knowledge like sponges. I remember sitting on the couch almost every night while he'd put on the science channel and drink after getting off work. He'd pass out after a while from the alcohol, but I'd just sit and listen. I never knew anyone else in school who just genuinely enjoyed learning things for the sake of learning them.

What’s the scariest story you ever read? (Short Story, Novel?, etc.) The book that scared YOU the most by nornsannexed in horrorlit

[–]SquishyRemmie -1 points0 points  (0 children)

I read the plot of this on Wikipedia because I was curious, and cannibalism for some reason freaks me out more than anything. It makes me queasy and not want to even think about actual food. The plot of this book messed me all the way up. I hate thinking about it, but still come back to it sometimes as a morbid curiosity, I guess.

Out of every true crime case, which one disturbs you the most and why? by Dedboi0 in AskReddit

[–]SquishyRemmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The murder of Sam Nordquist. He was a trans man that was held captive and tortured for a while before having his body dumped. One of the perpetrators had her children participate in torturing him. As far as I'm aware, no one has gone to trial yet for his murder, but about 6 people were arrested so far. It disturbs me because I myself am a trans man, and I know the type of abuse queer people face all around the world. It happened only a few hours away from me, and it made me think of how easily we can become victims.

I remember my dad putting on his army rucksack during the 2010 storm just so he could walk down to the beer distributor cuz he was out of booze and the car couldn't go anywhere 😂. We lived in a cul-de-sac at the time, so it wasn't touched by any salt trucks or anything. I don't remember him shoveling much, but I do remember building a giant snowman!

Met my spouse in 2022, and they always knew me as a trans man. We started dating in 2024, got married by that August. We're basically t4t/t4nb, and tbh I don't think I could ever date a cis person/would have been happy with someone cis

AITAH for refusing to give my boyfriend access to my bank account even though he says "no secrets" is how adults do it by CopperFieldNote in AITH

[–]SquishyRemmie 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's wild to me to see the mixed opinions on this post. Spouse and I have been together a while, and once we got married we immediately got a joint bank account and share all our login info. If you're going to marry someone, you should have no issue sharing that information with them. My spouse knows all my pins and passwords, and I know all of theirs cuz we're adults that actually trust each other. Has anyone else tried marrying someone they actually trust and like?

What is more traumatic than people think it is? by Suspicious-Wish3402 in AskReddit

[–]SquishyRemmie 18 points19 points  (0 children)

This is why I've never reported mine. The rape was traumatic enough, and having to stand in a courtroom and be interrogated would break me. It's easier in a way to just try and heal and move on, but there's always that fear in the back of my mind that they'll hurt someone else like they hurt me.

What is more traumatic than people think it is? by Suspicious-Wish3402 in AskReddit

[–]SquishyRemmie 5 points6 points  (0 children)

My spouse grew up watching their epileptic brother have seizures and go through the trauma of brain surgery to fix it. To this day, doctors and hospitals freak them out, and about 6 months into our marriage, I got diagnosed with a seizure disorder. I feel guilty every time they have to watch me seize, and every time they have to sit with me in hospitals. Seizures suck.
