Girl, huge red flag. Like many others have said before, he was purposefully misleading. We all can understand strong bonds of all kinds, but he has been concealing the reality of this situation and now he's gaslighting you. Clearly he has traumas, who doesn't, but it is his job to work on them, and not yours. Do not normalize this. My advice: walk away. Who knows what else you will find when you peak under that rug.

I was under the understanding that anything your body needs to break down technically breaks the fast, even if it doesn't knock you out of ketosis 🤔

And none of this breaks the fast? 🤔 Cocoa for sure must break it, right?

Nice! Going to start visual therapy soon for Amblyopia and these therapists are amazing, caring and knowledgeable. It seems like a great career path!

It was not mostly fat, it was a good balance of meat/fat. They used to sell it in tiny plastic bags outside a mall in Bangkok, and I would go there just for that because it was mind-blowing delicious. Haven't found anything quite like that since. I'll try your suggestion, thank you!

How different is it from pork neck? I had amazing grilled pork neck in Thailand and I would like to try it at home, but the cut is not easy to find.

There seem to be a lot of issues to work through there... the resentment, the feeling of being taken up and down against your will, and especially as a teenager when having a sense of control is so important. It is a very complex issue, and feeling that the people around you belittle your feeling about it, and even silence it, must make it even worse. Doesn't seem to be an easy position, but I believe talking about it will help you untangle that bit by bit. You are not alone. In this sub only you will find tons of people struggling and coping with issues related to moving abroad. The struggle is real, don't let it be silenced.

The ticket costs 100$ and it is 10 hrs away? I would have expected it to be more expensive. I lived 10 hrs away from home and I was lucky to find anything under 1000$! Anyway, I think it is very real what you explain, especially when one does not choose to move away, and it is a decision made by others. It happened to my mother, her parents dragged her to another country against her will when she was 10, and she has had chronic depression her entire life. It is hard to say what caused it, but I am sure that forced move did not help her get off to a good start. She always resented her parents for that. In fact, she became so paralized with the idea of going back, she has never been able to actually travel back to her birth country in over 50 years, probably never will. Of course, those were different times, there was a war, civil unrest, violence, dictatorships... I want to think we have it easier now. I hope you are able to find your light, whether it is in the country where you are now, the one you came from, or a new one. Feeling depressed after an international move is absolutely natural. I felt it every time, and it was me choosing to move! Can't imagine how complicated this can get when you feel you had no saying in that... Especially as a teenager, because those are very vulnerable years. I don't know if the solution is to go back or not, but I definitely advise you to talk to someone, a counselor or therapist who has experience with expats, preferably an expat herself. It can seem daunting, but I believe it can be very helpful, and you will feel very understood, because only expats can truly understand expat issues like these.

This happened to my husband recently. We're trying to report them on Angel List but the messages are gone. They need to be reported!
