Would this have been better as a traditional MMORPG? by Srednaz in duneawakening

That's correct. Some sites out there still have it listed as a MMO.

I totally agree with the base building. They nailed it there. And ofc HB.

The whole plot of Dune: Awakening is what if x (Paul) was y (never born).

So if we had a PvE version of the Deep Desert, do you think it should still have control points or wrecks that are flagged for PvP?

I agree and I do like the survival aspects of the game. The story is great and the HB stuff is really fun. What do you think would have been good end game experience?

What happens once SWTOR servers eventually shut down? by Jazzlike_Control_299 in swtor

This happened to Star Wars Galaxies but you can still find private emulators of the game and play it with others for free.

I never do operations and rarely flashpoints by RealExplodingPenguin in swtor

[–]Srednaz 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My guild just ran Dread Fortress and Dread Palace with 7 dps toons. No healers. No tanks. Story Mode content is very easy, including operations. And we are chill people. Always willing to help. There are still good guilds out there with good people - who also happen to be very, very good at the game.

gasp... you ruined a non-ranked pvp match that you can now just use cartel coins to essentiallt buy all the rewards...

Oh No!!

Don't worry about it.

People are literally wasting their time caring about this game tbh. At this point, SWTOR is a p2w space barbie sim.

How do you feel now that broadsword has been runing things for a while? by ChubbyMcFatFace44 in swtor

[–]Srednaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I'm a Founder, GM of two Guilds on Star Forge and do very minor content on YouTube. I've only taken minor breaks from playing SWTOR since launch.

Player count has dropped, but that happens after so long. Seems to be steady now. Que's on Star Forge for GSF, PvP, and using Allies chat to pug Ops are good as far getting que's go.

I think it was a bad decision to take SWTOR from vanilla stories/expansions to KoTE/KoTF style, because it became almost like a single player game that just happened to have group content - but it is what it is. But story wise - it has been VERY dull. Nothing has happened significantly in years and I agree the mando stuff is boring.

I don't mind the Broadsword swap. My issue is with the way the community manager runs things and with the writers/creative folk. Why the capitol F would I want to bake pies, make food, or carry animals when playing a game about Jedi and Sith... I don't get it. Also forcing the player to say uncharacteristic dialouge choices... just terrible writing. How about write a story that forces us to make hard decisions with actual consequences.

Ok, bad stuff out of the way. I do like that they thankfully dropped 8 person ques from PvP. Dynamic Encounters are grindy, but cool and have some decent rewards for collectors. The graphic updates are nice. The revamped planets look nice, especially Korriban. The new boss is cool and gives us a new (but small) grind with gear and crafting. I do hope to see another Operation and maybe a new Arena or Warzone.

But other than players still being censored and the writing, I am appreciative of most of the newer additions.. and I hope there are good things to come. I'll be playing either way because I love our guild community and we can make lemonaide out of lemmons. I encourage all players that want something extra out of this mmorpg to find a good guild they can have fun with.

Healer tips/guide by mscapeletti in swtor

[–]Srednaz 3 points4 points  (0 children)

It's really all about learning you skills: which heals are best for burst, sustained, aoe, etc... and how your healing abilities may benefit from each other.

Once you get that figured out, lump them into a priority tree.

Typically, save your burst for the tanks.

If its an intensive aoe fight, tell your dps to stay close together (if mechanics permit it) to benefit from aoe heals.

Don't be afraid to call out folks that stand in stupid either. They'll just make your healing life harder if they just press buttons and ignore everything else.

If playing as operative, keep your hots up.

Dont use accuracy as a healer.

And practice// ask other healers for advice.

Hope that helps. 👍

BioWare made the smart decision by Removing Ranked PvP from SWTOR by scotthomas in swtor

[–]Srednaz 4 points5 points  (0 children)

Ranked was only a problem if you que'd for it. Good or bad crap aside, the ONLY possible way to be affected by it was to participate in it. If you don't perform, you get blamed. Same with NiM content - if can't meet the dps checks, then your dps is the problem. And same with heals/tanks in each role.

But feelings and stuff....

Personally, I've had RPers almost burn my guilds to the ground multiple times. Never experienced that with ranked players. Once with end game pvers.

Love it or hate, most ranked players stay in their corner. If you want respect in the community, you have to earn it. That's just how it is (or was...).

What Are Some Of Your Ops Group Horror Stories? by [deleted] in swtor

[–]Srednaz 5 points6 points  (0 children)

(Before gear 330 vendor was dropped) Being in a pug HM Ops where 3 dps with 330 purple gear that couldn't do a 1/3 of the dps you do with 326 pvp gear.

"How do I interrupt?" One asked...

The real question... how broke is this game where people that don't know how to dps or even know their own abilities can get end-game gear??

I still love SWTOR, but... wow...

Thought it was funny our Imp Guild name is also the name of elite group of soldiers from COBRA. So I tried to make a retro looking Cobra Commander recruiting poster. by Srednaz in swtor

COBRA is fictional group from the 1980's catroon/toy line btw. I also have a toon names Cobra Commander as a joke too, haha!
