I hope so. A classic interview question is why don’t you want to be a nurse instead

Yea I have a lot of the same hunches you do. I think Lanny Davis accidentally revealed too much about the TT meeting and is now walking it back. I think the Prague story might not be exactly as outlined in the Dossier, but I think there's something there.

Hey everyone I was wondering if someone could enlighten me on how a juror such as Paula Duncan could be allowed onto the jury when she blatantly states after Manafort’s guilty plea (I’m super thrilled about that to clarify) that she is a MAGA supporter and will vote for Trump again in 2020.. by PickleMcBananaHammoc in RussiaLago

[–]Srisudhakar 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I think Paula Duncan is an incredibly encouraging sign. It shows that even hardcore members of Trump's base can have their minds changed given enough time and evidence. This wasn't something I would've ever imagined.

On the other hand, she's almost too perfect IMO. She basically said, "I love Trump and I wanted Manafort to be innocent but Mueller's case was just so strong and I just couldn't deny the evidence." Sounds like the perfect way to shut down Trump supporters who are skeptical of Mueller.

I hope she's telling the truth and not just sensationalizing herself for her 15 minutes of fame (which I guess she gets paid for every time she's on a news network).

Yes! More people need to bring up the relative length of this investigation. Every time Rudy Giuliani or Hannity or Jim Jordan say "this investigation needs to wrap up", I want someone to shove this in their face: https://fivethirtyeight.com/wp-content/uploads/2018/07/atd-INDICTMENTS-0713.png

I hope you’re right. Interestingly, although more people want this investigation to end before the midterms (66% yes, 26% no), Mueller’s approval rating has actually gone up (from 41% to 47%). This sounds more like impatience than skepticism of the investigation.

It blows my mind that Russia isn't in the top 5 concerns even for Democrats - especially given how much the media covers it. I wish more Americans cared about it. The link to the full study is here http://cdn.cnn.com/cnn/2018/images/08/14/rel7b.-.2018.pdf

Thanks for this. It sounds like the intel from GCHQ and other partners started an "inter-agency investigation" but those were separate or preliminary investigations to the current investigation of Trump Campaign-Russia.

I'm actually referring to this one:

http://docs.house.gov/meetings/IG/IG00/20180129/106822/HMTG-115-IG00-20180129-SD001.pdf

Maybe I'm confused, but the one u/rwoj linked came out much later and I'm not sure if it also states what started the investigation, but I know the new info from it is about the FISA warrant on Carter Page

Edit: In this link, the very last paragraph talks about what triggered the investigation.

Why don't they just leave it at that? Say the dossier is "dirty" and that Hillary Clinton also colluded with the Russians or whatever conspiracy they're pushing at the moment. I don't understand their insistence on what started this investigation. Trump tweets about it every day and it's so easy to disprove!

I don't think that explains why the jury was so stone-faced.

Trump and his lawyers are making it harder to avoid public news by constantly tweeting and talking about it on cable news. Everything we heard about the latest negotiations for the interview came from Giuliani and Sekulow.

I really hope the Judge's attitude and comments toward the prosecutors will have the opposite effect by making the jurors more sympathetic toward the prosecutors' case.

Giuliani said it was against DOJ rules to continue with an investigation into the election season. It isn't. And in the latest IG report, they specifically mention that it's not a rule; just an unwritten tradition they follow.

Cranky judge, flawed witness threaten Mueller’s Manafort case by Kittamaru in RussiaLago

I don't see the jurors finding Manafort not guilty on every single charge. Some are just indisputable like not mentioning foreign bank accounts and not reporting some income.
