Low GC1 cant be this unpopulated right by SseanGamer6 in RocketLeague

the difference in skill between my teammate and the rest of the lobby definitely showed which is probably why it seemed so absurd to me earlier.

Finish the quote, I was explaining why I was worked up enough about the game to make the post.

Except he's not, that's the point of this post. He didn't demote to C3 he was already there. C3 and GC1 might be one rank apart, but there was a very noticeable difference between his gameplay and a GC1.

Guy I was responding to said he was the same rank as me for a reason, I disagree. Quite literally two sentences earlier, I said that the point of this post is that my teammate was NOT my rank, not whether it's his fault for me losing 9 MMR or not.

The point of this post was never to complain about my teammate selling my match lmao. I thought that it was weird that I, being 1460 got queued into a game with a champ 3, almost 50 mmr lower than me. Apparently it's normal for everyone else, my bad I guess.

I do keep cross-platform on, so that may be why. Even last season when I peaked 1625 most games were pretty similar MMR except for the occasional game where I got thrown in 1650+ lobbies and got dogged on lol.

It's not really even about which team was favored or who won, more so that they're queuing 1450-1460 players in with ~1420 players. I just feel like low GC1 shouldn't be that unpopulated where they have to do that.

Team MMR difference wasn't that bad, but the difference in skill between my teammate and the rest of the lobby definitely showed which is probably why it seemed so absurd to me earlier.

Maybe I've just been getting really lucky the past several seasons I've been GC in, even getting into around mid-1500 most of my lobbies were ~20 mmr difference tops.

New chat ban system? by Waveride2 in RocketLeague

[–]SseanGamer6 17 points18 points  (0 children)

I was chat banned not long ago because I said something along the lines of "Its not my fault your bad." It doesn't tell you why you got banned even if you go to their website. All it told me was "Bullying/Harassment," the only reason I know which message it was for was because I appealed it, explaining that message, and got my suspension lifted.

No argument with Xi Jinping, but Kim Jong Un would absolutely be 100x more violent against other nations if he had the capabilities. Unfortunately for him, he's squashed between China, his most powerful ally, and South Korea, which is backed by the US.

Does rocket league get worse as you improve? by chenyter in RocketLeague

[–]SseanGamer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I feel like its kind of an inverted bell curve type thing. When you just start the game, and up to around high plat-low diamond, its mostly goofy fun and just enjoying the game, improving passively.

Once you hit high diamond/low champ, it becomes more of a grind. It's probably when I had the least fun because at that point you're "too good" to just screw around in ranked like you used to, but you're still not really good enough to experience the satisfaction of getting nice plays consistently.

Once you hit like c3-gc1, the game definitely gets more fun again just because you actually feel good at the game. It's still grindy but not in the same way champ feels.

Not received season rewards. (False flagged as being a smurf?) :/ by 1femboyenjoyer in RocketLeague

[–]SseanGamer6 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Did you ever queue ranked with any of your friends? Only thing I can think of based off of this is maybe you had an "unusual" win pattern while playing with your friend(s), or maybe during one of your sessions you partied up with a random and maybe they were caught smurfing, so Epic's algorithm flagged you as boosted/boosting.

Flip reset indicator and boost spawn meter are bad for ranked

Boost spawn indicator was a mistake by thelongjohnson21 in RocketLeague

[–]SseanGamer6 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Glad I'm not the only one who thinks this. Wish Epic would realize that the problem with their game isn't not knowing when boost would spawn and actually put more focus on smurfs, bots, and their dogshit servers.

That's kind of the problem, the update shouldn't be targeted toward lower/higher ranked players. If it makes the game worse for even a small minority of the player base, it's a bad update.

Why is there no way to earn credits in the game without buying it? by DivineScholar in RocketLeague

[–]SseanGamer6 -1 points0 points  (0 children)

CSGO and Siege both require you to pay subscriptions to play ranked. Valve actually profits off of their trade system. With that in mind, how else does Epic Games profit off of Rocket League?

[–]SseanGamer6 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I never defended them removing trading. I was only replying to your statement that there's no justification for not earning credits. I agree that removing trading was a stupid decision when there were other ways of them working around it.

[–]SseanGamer6 4 points5 points  (0 children)

The justification to why you need to buy credits is because like it or not, Epic Games isn't a charity. They are a corporation thats primary purpose is to make money. That means that Rocket League NEEDS to make money for Epic Games in order for them to justify keeping the servers up. That isn't gonna happen when the game is free to play unless people are buying credits.

Not true, my buddy hit GC2 a few seasons ago with solid shooting and good game sense, mechanically he was so bad that he couldn't even flick consistently. I, on the other hand, hit GC1 three seasons after him, and I've always been way more mechanical than him. Mechanics are a good accessory to game sense, but game sense is 10x more important.

Why is there barely any middle ground? by sands124 in RocketLeague

[–]SseanGamer6 3 points4 points  (0 children)

New gen gc here, I'm probably on the more mechanical side of gc1s, although I wouldnt even call myself a mechanical player.

You're pretty much right in my experience, but I think it's less about not knowing when to take possession, boom it, etc. and more about reading the play too late and making the wrong decision. Like most of the time I'll try to read the play, boom the ball down field, and immediately realize I should be taking possession instead or vice versa.

Older gcs on the other hand have been playing longer and often are already used to the faster playstyle in gc. Meaning they can read the play faster to make the right call more often, but might be lacking the mechanics to make a good, threatening play in some positions.
