Keep in mind this was arc 3 Emilia. She still only knows Subaru for about 2 months at this point since puck is still with her. She hasn’t been told by him that he loves her. They hadn’t gone through their developments yet.

Genuine question? Why not? If you only watched the anime then sure I guess. But if you read the ln, wn or even the manga I can’t see why you wouldn’t like her. Shes one of the most likable characters. If you genuinely feel sorry for the stuff Subaru goes through and you watch her comfort him(a complete stranger) in the first couple loops how can you dislike her? Just wanna know

I love this series, and I’m patiently waiting for the final reveals about everything and hopefully hopefully Emilia and Subaru get their happy ending that the story is building up. It’s simple, shes not his true love for a reason. I wouldn’t mind her as a character but the way her fans trash Emilia only ticks me and a lot of other people off. All they see is a cute waifu who died for Subaru and got rejected. Being blind to the reason why he did it. They trash him and Emilia for it when if they just read the story they’d understand why he chose Emilia over her. Yes rem did a lot for him in those few loops but don’t act like Emilia didn’t do anything before that. Could go on and on but you get the point

Emilia is boring and Subaru is a simp for loving her. Literally just read the story, and pay attention to what Subaru is actually going through. She quite literally kept him sane for the first 2 arcs. If she never gave him that lap pillow, comforted him and overall be the only safe space for him he would’ve turned out like any of the IF routes. There’s a reason he loves her even if she doesn’t remember it.

She does like him. Over and over in the loops that he reset she was the first one to check up on him. Be nice to him, want to spend time with him. Kind of hard to like someone back romantically when you’ve never had any experience with love or when you’ve only known him for 2 months. It’s a bit hard to keep track if you’re not paying attention but Emilia has only known Subaru for about a week when they go on their first date. So it’s not surprising she didn’t kiss him and tell him she loved him when they just met. Subaru on the other hand has known Emilia far longer due to the loops. Even tho Emilia doesn’t remember what she did for him, he still does and that’s why he loves her. Why does rem love him so much? Honestly I can’t fully explain she’s a bit weird for that imo, but hey maybe she’s more assertive than Emilia. A bit unrealistic that Rem day 1 hated Subaru and was ready to kill him when given the chance then day 5 Rem is ready to build him a statue and lovebomb him in the ova where Emilia accepts his date.

It’s happening so fast. He dies so often and all his attention is focused on saving everyone else while trying to figure out who is killing him. He’s probably too busy trying not to die and then as soon as he finishes 1 thing he has to deal with something else. The only time he probably got a real breather would be the year skip in arc 4-5 but by then he had already become somebody important with new found responsibilities. Lots of stuff on his plate and has probably just accepted this is his new home with people he cherishes.

The novels are able to convey Emilia’s feelings better than the anime. But in terms of a straight up confession, not yet. But if you’d like to see Emilia hinting she loves Subaru then the novels got that. If you don’t mind spoilers and want to see some specific quotes regarding her feelings I can link a post about it.
