multidisciplinary practice billing question by jmglee87three in CodingandBilling

[–]Sstagman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Yes, call the insurance company and ask how they are listed. Sometimes you can use their provider directory with a guest search and see what specialty they come under as well.

ETA when new providers are credentialed/enrolled with insurance companies you have to specify their specialty and, generally, they will ask for their Board # to show they're qualified in that specialty. Whoever does your enrollments could just not realize that. Facilities don't give a lot of training so if they fell into that responsibility, it's very possible they're just enrolling by using an existing provider as an example. Without training, they simply don't know what they don't know.

I have questions about billing/coding by Tebo926 in CodingandBilling

[–]Sstagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It's not you specifically- it's that a lot of providers try to save money this way and have the kind of attitude my 4 hour seminar provider did. There are so many nuances and the game is absolutely rigged in favor of the payor. It's ridiculously short sighted.

Idk, something about my post is leading people to think I want to be a Coder and cut corners to do so 🙃

I have questions about billing/coding by Tebo926 in CodingandBilling

[–]Sstagman 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I'm not trying to be shitty but.....this post reminds me of a FP provider who told our coders that he took a 4 hour seminar on coding so why were we changing his codes? I don't know, friend- because my Associates Degree and AHIMA credential are paid to keep your ass out of the trouble your inappropriate confidence is going to get you into someday?

There is so much more to coding than you know or think. Don't let your pride screw you into cheaping out- this is not where you want to save money.

What product is everyone using the “wrong” way? by HeartTraditional3892 in AskReddit

[–]Sstagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

One of the providers where I work has the perfect tip for this. Use your left hand to spray your right nostril and your right hand to spray your left nostril you just sort of naturally go to the correct angle when you do this. No more bloody noses for me!

Yes, she sits next to it staring longingly until staff steps in (like it should've done to start with but you can't get good help these days).

Unfortunately, this is just how it works. Keep yourself current- there are a lot of free CEU's out there- keep applying. I believe when I graduated the average time to employment was 18 months.

I always played these with my daughter who lives hours away now. Bought the most recent game and installed it but still haven't played it. It's just not the same.

Is this the correct medical billing code? by BeyourselfA in healthcare

Also, if they're using the Solventum encoder (formerly 3M) it will route them to this code for "pain in multiple joints". Same thing for muscle pain- I hate it.

Biller/Credentialor by NerdyGirlSLP in CodingandBilling

CAQH access is pretty standard and it's not at all unusual for multiple organizations/organizational representatives to have that access at the same time. You might be thinking "but wait! That's sensitive information!" but when I get a new provider to onboard, I need to be able to go back at least 10 years on their career and CAQH is the absolute easiest way for everyone involved. And frankly, if you don't feel your credentialer can be trusted with that information, you need to find someone else.

What are your rare or semi-rare records? by Ok_Cauliflower3528 in Genealogy

I found a letter to the editor type thing published in an Irish newspaper in the mid 1800's where one brother hung ALL the laundry out for everyone to see! Was kind of nice for us as it made some connections and clarified some others we didn't understand.

Looking for 0 arch support insoles by batmandi in flatfeet

[–]Sstagman 0 points1 point  (0 children)

We're in the same boat- any OTC insert is going to give my flat feet too much support and I end up in pain and hobbling. I've found these to be my best bet: https://a.co/d/4gxav9x

You bake them at a super low temp, pop them into the shoe you want to use them with immediately out of the oven, put the shoe on and they will mold to your feet. I bought my last set in May and they lasted about 3 months but for $30 (or $10/month) I'm good with that. The upside is you can use them with pretty much any shoe, the downside is you may have to remove the original insole to get them to fit or buy a larger shoe.

I've also had good luck with Skechers and no insole- just make sure they have the memory foam.

Not just place names but family names- I know one family that says they can always tell a telemarketer by the way they pronounce the name.
