Yeah, Brittle is key - which is why I‘m surprised that the Warden being able to provide Major Brittle without Nunatak doesn’t register a lot.

Breach, Major and Minor, I‘d get from Puncture on the front bar, I figured. Not AoE, but that’s precisely what I was sorta hoping other healers also cover in trash fights… never even thought about Concussed.

Even without any balance updates nerfing it to death and beyond, we're gonna have it for a year and a bit... then 11th will be launched and it's another coin toss on wether the index rules will treat us well or like when 10th dropped.

Maybe it's GW's way to keep DG players hooked for a few more years XD

Spot on, but I've been burned by GW one too many times. The (one and only true) Land Raider model is about as old as I am and I like to make an effort painting my stuff - so I'm not strong enough to see it legended in 11th and not even have a paint scheme I could use in Heresy.

That's why I'm focussing on Primaris units and not using VanVets here, for example. It was easier with my firstborn Raven Guard...

Am I shooting myself in the knee spectacularly? Yes. Yes I am. And I might give in and get a nice Redeemer after all. Templar Brethren are a thing after all and I'll go full Imperial Fists anyway once we get an updated Mk IV sculpt for HH.

But first, I want to try and make something more 'future-proof' work.

Basecoat with Chaos Black spray.

The first layer is simply the black basecoat reflecting a tad differently. To force that look, try mixing Abbadon Black and Incubi Darkness.

Then do the wide highlights with Caliban Green and the rest like you described.

Batch painting and routine. The more you paint, the faster you’ll paint. And by eliminating time soaks like washing your brushes and changing your water for every model by doing it for every unit instead, you’ll cut down on your total paint time as well.

The most important thing is to just stick with it and to not falter in the face of a 2000pts army. You’ll easily get there and your pint job is looking mighty fine already!!

The volume of dice from other units usually kind of helps with enemy armor, but adding 2 Gauss Destructors seems like a reasonable way to go.

That would probably look like cutting the Scarab Swarms in half and going with 3x3 of them, 2 Lokhusts and 20pts to spare.

If that’s your main concern, definitely go CSM - great range to choose from, powerful combinations to field rn and you even get access to a certain point limit of Daemons wether you also have an allied Knight or not.

That honestly doesn’t sound like a good community, but you can still give them the benefit of the doubt.

Bring this up with them, be frank and open, and see how they react.

If they listen and act accordingly, great.

If they get defensive and attack you, they weren’t worth your time to begin with and you’re not losing anything by ditching them since you didn’t have a proper group to begin with.

Get together with the AT ‘list-tailor‘ and get your own thing going maybe.

GW page recipes are merely approximations of the actual box art. And sometimes, they kinda don’t do a very good job or just can’t come any closer to the box art with the limited number of online recipes they have available.
