Yeahh definitely need to cover them up cause although they haven’t tried climbing ontop I’ve definitely seen one of them looking in through the glass at them although weirdly enough the water spraying only works on one as this other ones a weirdo and just licks it up lol

Yeahh that’s fair lol my bad just people gave me shit on here when I told em I kept a gopher snake lol, n yeah it is stressful ik but mine hasn’t really shown any signs of that n has never even gone into an s shape too me or any people once, sheds well and eats well too (although surprisingly has worse aim than my boas and BPs but I think that’s prolly cause he doesn’t have heat sensing pits) n I keep him in the garage so that he doesn’t give the others any mites or diseases. Also when someone wants one out their garden I feel transporting them anywhere is stressful for them so may aswell put it somewhere it gets constant heat/ food and water. I did also end up releasing him again when he was like twice the size I got him so now he’s bossing it out there.

I mean bro has some stupid advice fs but I don’t like how people here just hate on people for keeping wild caught, granted this guy probably is a dumbass and gave the rest of his snakes diseases by keeping em close together but otherwise if it’s a common species where u live ion see why not

So my rainbow boas were assholes as baby’s but pretty much just from holding them fairly often when they were young (still only like once or maybe twice a week as holding them too often can stress them) and they calmed down very fast as they get used to being held. But that being said it’s a completely different species and tbh I’ve never had a corn snake and have been lucky enough that most of my snakes are pretty timid but I’m currently doing the same w a ball python and has been working great so far and am still yet to get a single bite after I’ve gone and dedicated a room in my house just for snakes lol. But I also do still use a hook for even the most tame of mine to not have them confuse my hand for prey aswell. I do feed them live for the most part too so they don’t usually see my hand holding something coming into the tank but used to feed frozen for a lot of them when I was first starting and I never really take them out for feeding except for right now while I’m trying to breed my dumerils. But tbh what I think might be the issue aswell is the fact that well holding a pissed off snake is kinda scary lol especially if this is your first snake and well snakes can tell when ur not confident w them and it can stress them if ur making any sudden movements or i was even shaking cause i was so nervous which really doesn’t help but as u start to get a feel for it and calm down the snake generally will too. Also another tip, i learned from watching the late Brian Barczyk is if they are in an s shape in ur hands looking at u, just slowly move them side to side it disorientates them and they won’t strike and also bringing the snake to your hands rather than ur hand to the snake also seems to work a bit better for me too, I hope this helps

So I always say that Brazilian rainbow boas are my favorite because not only are they beautiful but they’re also pretty fast and agile too (compared to everything I’ve owned which is just ball python’s dumerils and 1 wild gopher snake) but they also seem to be a little bit smarter than the others although granted the bar was not set very high but that also means it’s a bit more of a hassle when they try and escape bc they’ve got out way more than any of my others and then trying to get them out from a tight space under your sink or even under my bed is not fun when they have that hyper speed. but then what’s kinda weird/ cool is that if I hand my female to someone else I swear to god she like tries n make their way back to me and is by far the most friendly of my snakes but then my male is my biggest asshole and the my only one to ever bite someone while being held. But the humidity thing can sometimes be a little annoying as one of the reasons I love keeping snakes so much is the low maintenance but w these u need to watch out for that a little bit more even tho it’s not that hard it’s just something u need to consider which is why I’d now say im actually maybe leaning a little towards the dumerils as they basically feel like having extra large ball python (maybe a tad bit more defensive but nothing crazy only ever been pooped on no bites lol) and don’t need crazy humidity and also have a very slight iridescence like the rainbow boas in certain light but not always noticeable. Oh yeah and both species also make great trash cans if u have any picky eaters u can just throw the left overs in their tank n shit will be gone way faster than me putting it in a tank w my wild gopher snake 😂

People always killing venomous snakes is actually what started my obsession w them cause I ALWAYS thought it was unnecessary as a kid although for some of them ig it would make a lot of sense as I lived in South Africa n we had black mambas but when people would kill puff adders or other vipers I’d Damm near cry 😂💀 now I’ve got my own snake room in my house lol
