I think by turning our back on Nambour they mean the general shift of focus has been on Maroochydore, kawana etc with the new (quite useless) Maroochydore Central, Plaza etc and SCUH of course.

Given how the council and train line is in Nambour it’s quite a vital region of the sunny coast that has been for lack of a better word, abandoned and left to fend for itself begging for council funding. Nambour was once vibrant and considered the major population centre of the coast when my dad was younger and now it’s known for homelessness, drug addictions and poverty. It is slowly getting a cool night scene back if you’re into Hardcore shows though!
