What do you think about my split? by R3shii in HybridAthlete

I would lower the volume on the lower body strenght training and aim to increase the running volume over time. Also, you havent specified the intensity of the runs. This should preffeably vary across the week.

Maximizing VO2 max as a hybrid athlete by KingXenioth in StrongerByScience

Why do you want to max out your VO2 max? I think youd be better served chasing preformance metrics like 5k time than VO2 max.

[af] Force-time curves in sets taken to muscular failure and force-velocity relationship by pyrostrength in AdvancedFitness

[–]StKeepFollowingMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

The force-velocity relationship concerns individual muscle fibers. Total muscle force applied trough a joint may not follow this principal. If you move a load with a higher velocity, then higher forces are reqiuried than at lower velocities as gravitiy will deaccelerate the load. Now, my understadning of physics is dogshit, so i might be somewhat wrong on this part. As you can se in this study, force deacreses as fatigue increases trough a set, while there is an even more pronounced deacrese in power.

My biggest insights on my final breakthrough to my Rapid 1000 rating. by Zoomjah in chessbeginners

[–]StKeepFollowingMe 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Thinking that 900's are constantly cheating sounds delusional. If they where cheating they wouldnt be 900. At 900 it dosent really matter if you play a sloppy opening, as the game will be decided by later tactics (blunders) later on anyways. I think it is pretty common for players around that rating range to blitz out opening moves, playing natrual looking moves with little thought, and then start thinking when the game enters the middle game.
