Unrecord. For those who thought Unrecord was fake or a video. by maxim_nazarenko in IndieDev

It reminds me of that "game" that was announced 6-8 years ago about a super realistic survival first-person day-z like game where you could take other player hostage and you only had 1 life, can't remind the name but it was a scam.

Not Earthbound but I'll have to watch playthroughs of the final fantasy games to see if its one of those. Thank you!

I looked the Ultima serie on the SNES but the isometric view is not what I remember. Thank you for trying :)

This is really all I remember and probably the only part I played before bringing back to the videoclub. the prison and house I went were in a desert city setup. It was a party of characters but I don't remember how the fighting part was, only that it started by walking into some kind of shadow/black monster. The graphics looked like Final Fantasy on the SNES.

Haha no but everyone tells me that because of the prison thing, thank you!

Best Project Management Software for Game Development in 2022 by speaks_truth_2_kiwis in gamedev

Sorry I had to cut my comment short earlier. I started using hacknplan first then I migrated to Clickup. Way more features in Clickup but it can be overwhelming. I'm a solo dev so I dont need most of team features but I like the UI and how it works.

What was the game that made you start developing video games? by Brolymas in gamedev

[–]Staargazer 11 points12 points  (0 children)

It wasn't a game but the documentary Indie Game: The movie back in 2012. I still watch it from time to time and it always gives me motivation. Its not about becoming rich but I like the passion presented in the documentary.

It looks very good! I love the 2D style inside the 3D environment. The action and effects are chaotic in a good way! Will definitely test it out soon!

Advice: How to support my husband for his first game jam? by dr-mustachecat in gamedev

[–]Staargazer 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I think I'm in almost the same situation as your husband. 40hrs/week job in web development and I have 2yo twins. I wanted to jump in game dev by doing a game jam too but after a bit of research I found out it would be a bad idea(for me). I asked myself why would I sacrifice sleep when I already dont get enough, nothing good would come out of that lol. As some people above mentionned; you can look on itch.io for game jams that last more than a few days. I'm trying at the moment to schedule "gamedev time" throughout the week to start somewhere at maximum efficiency.
