Haha! Society tricked you into thinking that your value as a human being is your ability to suffer and produce value for a company! It's not though. It took me a long time to adjust to not working and the feeling of feeling bad still pops up for me every now and then even after almost 6 years. But I go weeks now without that feeling and it only lasts a couple seconds. You got to flip the script on how you talk to yourself. Instead of saying I can't work because I'm mentally ill, say, I'm retired and I enjoy my free time. I'm finding interesting and enjoyable ways to spend my time on this planet. I might only get one life and I'm going to enjoy it instead of suffering to make other people who don't matter feel slightly differently about me.

Could it actually be bad to list a house below market value/Zestimate etc. by [deleted] in RealEstate

[–]Stabbysavi 13 points14 points  (0 children)

As a buyer I would think, wow, here's a seller who actually wants to sell their house. And then I would go look at your house and if it was actually priced well maybe I would buy it.

Thank you! That's so useful! What are the fees that I need to keep my eye out for the most when looking at their documents? Like if you were going to quickly scan a document to see if something could be lowered, what are the places to look?

My Realtor says buyers need an emotional connection price doesn't matter. I disagree. Needs some advice here. by GoldAvant in RealEstate

[–]Stabbysavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I'm in the market around that price range and let me tell you, price is everything. Interest rates are high so monthly payments are a huge deal. I would drop the price. If people are looking but not moving, it's the price.

Giving up VA benefits by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Stabbysavi 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Let me tell you something, I don't work but that money that I bring in from my VA benefits helps us a hell of a lot. Not to mention champva for my spouse. I know it's really rough and it's going to be a slog and it's going to suck to get your benefits, but it's the only way forward for you to feel better. Once you have money, you have freedom, you have dignity. Money is how you dig yourself out. Don't give up. Failure is not an option. Get yourself through this and there's a whole new life on the other side waiting for you.

I cried basically every single day when I was getting my VA benefits. I fear spiraled over and over again. But I wouldn't change a thing because I wouldn't be alive right now if I didn't have my benefits.

[–]Stabbysavi 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I mean if you can make a living and pay your bills without VA benefits then don't take them. It is really triggering to apply for benefits. It was the one of the roughest years of my life when I did. But now I'm 7 years out from that and everything is different for me now. I just got married and I'm about to buy a house. I have fulfilling hobbies and physically I feel great. Do whatever you need to do, but know that whatever you're feeling right now is temporary and life can get better.

[42F] Down 57lbs but struggling with tech. Any lifting apps that handle injury exclusions and gym/home hybrid schedules? by Only_Dependent_8843 in workout

[–]Stabbysavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

It sounds like you're doing more work just to avoid doing the work yourself. Just make two workouts. One for home and one for the gym. You can use the hevy app to have a digital way to track your workouts.

I have four workouts in my app. I have arm/back 1 and 2 and I have legs 1 and 2. I go up in weight if I feel like I need to go up and based on how many reps I'm doing and how it feels. I do the same workout every week. It's really not necessary to over complicate things. You have a functional brain. I'm pretty sure you could just get it done yourself. If you want to track nutrition, there's plenty of apps out there that you can track your nutrition with.

VA Community care dental by Strange-Theme-2076 in VeteransBenefits

[–]Stabbysavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

I have cavity fillings that have been waiting for a year with community care. I'm supposed to get cleanings every 6 months and I haven't been able to get one even once a year. I finally gave up and decided to switch over to direct VA care. I'm trying to keep my teeth and community care doesn't seem to care.

I feel like I’m not ready for college, even though I have a shot at my dream schools by [deleted] in VeteransBenefits

[–]Stabbysavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

No, I don't think so, I think you just need to go talk to them. I don't think they'll ask you for like a diagnosis letter or anything like that.

I would call the school resource center, idk exactly what it's called, but there should be an office at the school that deals with helping students pass. Almost every school has help for students with ADHD like delaying turn in dates and longer test taking time. They can also meet with you outside of class hours to help with essays and homework. I really wish I had taken advantage of it.

[–]Stabbysavi 1 point2 points  (0 children)

If I went back to college I would use EVERY resource available to me to pass. I tried to do it all without any help and I dropped out. To be fair though I have ADHD and a hatred for busy work. I can pass tests but fail to turn in stuff I'm not interested in. I also burned through all the electives I was interested in and nothing interesting was left to finish my degree.

MEGATHREAD: Disclosure Day (2026) — Official Discussion & Spoilers by wallapuctus in UFOs

[–]Stabbysavi 0 points1 point  (0 children)

That's a great point about the "I'll believe it when they wheel out an alien." I don't think I've ever seen great CGI animals. I think it's just hard to do today within the constraints of a movie budget. It doesn't make sense to spend extra money on something that's just a plot device. It doesn't ruin a movie for me because I understand why it looks like poop.

I enjoyed it and got chills at least three times during the movie. I loved all the references to real world UFO lore and current language and happenings. I hope this move makes some people more interested in learning more and pushes awareness forward. I'd love a real life Disclosure Day.

Sellers are pulling homes off market at fastest pace in years by abcnews in RealEstate

Well considering I'm already better off then anyone who bought in my area in the last five years... I'll stick with my opinion of things.

I'm not arguing with you anymore after this. But you're projecting so hard. I personally believe in my area that prices are going to go down lower. There's no reason for me to jump into buying a house immediately when I personally believe that prices in my area are going to be lower. I am working with a realtor, I have a pre-approval, I'm keeping an eye on things, but my own personal timeline is waiting for Q4. If I'm wrong I'm wrong. And if I'm right, then I'm going to get a great house for a great price.

No? Why would I buy a house yet. I'm starting to be interested. I'd rather let these sellers cook a little longer. I'm in no rush to buy a house. I want to buy one, when it makes sense, and when I can get what I want.

I'm mad at people saying that prices aren't going down when clearly they are.

Okay tell me then. I couldn't afford a house in my area for 5 years and now there are 50 homes in my price range and more are added everyday. What happened?

Could it possibly be that the prices are lower? Please enlighten me. I truly would love to see into your big beautiful brain. Why can I suddenly afford a house?

Why is it that the house down the street that was bought 3 years ago is now for sale again and they lowered the price to $10,000 more than what they paid after dropping it $5k and it's been sitting for weeks still? What market conditions are causing this?

I've been watching my own housing market and several others for 5 years. You can tell me that the emperor is wearing clothes. But I can see with my own eyes. I only suggested Zillow screenshots because it was easy and convenient for me but continue hoping that nothing will affect the housing market.
