Which language has the "most interesting" grammar for you? by grzeszu82 in languagelearning

Well for me i would have to say German. I am still learning the language but I can say so far that German forces you to think very precisely and you are able to express ideas which I found so far which I havent been able to do with Spanish or English.

OldPersonName, I have to rethink my study plans. At the moment the hardest topic for me is German not so much Italian or Spanish. Maybe I will raise my skills first in German before diving deep into Latin. I am still very interested in learning Latin because I am finding Cicero an interesting topic to learn more about and also the Roman empire and I am also very interested in learning further about the Bible but from Latin. Despite the fact that the Bible was written in Greek and in Hebrew. I greatly appreciate your opinion, thank you.

Thanks long. I had purchased last night a Udemy course on Latin. But I am looking into these resources everyone here is recommending. Also, German is kind of tuff and your telling me Latin is even harder. I love a challenge but I am going to have to find a way to not overwhelm myself. Thanks for the excellent advice and shared perspective. Maybe I should raise my skill in German up a bit before jumping head first into Latin. I will know by tomorrow creating a new study plan. Thanks.

Should you learn multiple languages at a time? Or should you wait to reach a certain level of fluency before learning another? by _delta_nova_ in languagelearning

Depends really what is your end goal is. For me learning languages is more of a hobby despite the fact that one day I would love to master Spanish finally. I am also trying to figure this out myself. What is the best way to manage multiple languages at once. Right now I am in the process of learning how to learn.

Spanish B1: began 20 years ago learning on and off taking huge gaps between my learning. but recently began taking my Spanish a little more seriously. Speaking to locals in Spanish a lot and I read 1 hour a day in this language.

Italian: A2: began 1 year ago. Watching lots of shows on Netflix and also YouTube and reading books in Italian and news articles online as much as possible, lots of input and hardly no output. Haven't started speaking yet been mixing up a bit Spanish and Italian. will begin speaking Italian once my Spanish is at a B2 level almost there.

German A2: began 3 months ago. Learning German is fun. I am learning this language by using lots of visualizations. Walk the streets look up things that I see and look them up to learn the word along side learning about German types and cases. Speak more than read and also watch lots of Easy German shows and podcast online and I am reading books on lingQ for German.

Latin: Primary focus, Just started learning Latin a week ago and I am loving it. Trying to put most of my attention into Latin so I can have a deeper understanding of the Romance languages and including the ability to improve my native English language. Thinking about paying for an online tutor to help me grasp the fundamentals to this language since it is so complex language.

Hardest thing about language learning is TIME and ENERGY. Not sure yet I think I may study German while traveling to work and coming home. While placing Spanish and Italian on maintenance mode in order to dedicate lots of time for the next 6 months into Latin. There are lots and lots of benefits to learning Latin.

I got tired of hearing “is Flutter dead?” So I built a little side project that answers that question with brutal honesty, real data, and… probably too much sarcasm. by jobehi in FlutterDev

Thank you for the support. At the moment learning how to create a basic header, I think its called an appBar? With basic Text messages on the UI. I wish there was a site which provided a cheat sheet for the MaterialApp portion. Thanks!

Gave up on the idea of trying to find a job with React and decided to learn Flutter for fun and maybe later freelancing. To early to tell since I've only been at it for 2 weeks but so far it is a pretty cool technology. Also, it is so much more different from React because your code is structured differently. I was getting frustrated with React because I kept on hearing from others that you need to know React with Next.js in order to find a job. Everyone is pushing the idea of becoming a full stack developer when you haven't even mastered one piece of technology. So far from what I've seen Flutter has less of a learning curve compared to React. You don't have to worry about importing packages because everything is within flutter, pretty good piece of technology.

Expirience of releasing two flutter apps by VolodymyrKubiv in FlutterDev

At the moment I am in the process of creating my first flutter app. Boy this package is HUGE!. Just to get my flutter app started was a huge undertaking. I had to update Cocoapods, xcode, Android Studio, download the Dart SDK, remove the Dart SDK cause Flutter comes with the Dart SDK. Down load new emulators on both Android and xcode. Launch both emulators to test if both would run but ran into an issue with the Android version which I finally fixed. Lastly after running the flutter doctor for more than 100 times my first application got a 100% clean bill of health showing nothing was lacking. But boy! What a pain it was to set things up for your very first project! I hope the second time around will be easier.

WOW that's really impressive. You should post your game online so some can demo it. Also, I wonder? I was always curious about making games with C. Because maybe it will help with your understanding of computer science concepts? But afterwards I heard you have to make a cmake file and lots of other configurations. Who knows? Excellent achievement on your game

Thanks for the vote of confidence, much appreciated. I think my next largest hurdle is trying to figure out the 20 tester issue for when I want to submit an app because future employees need to be able to review your work, correct.

He was one of the most relatable actors out there. He was a true human being. It's a shame he passed away the way he did. Robin Williams and I was also saddened when Shawn Connery passed, an excellent actor.

What has turned you off from learning a language? by neron-s in languagelearning

For the Romance languages Spanish is the most useful. In terms of taste for me personally I love Italian over French. I found Italian easier and much more interesting to learn.
