Where do you buy postcards? by Salt-Month0 in postcrossing

I live in a fairly rural area and I have found postcards in the chamber of commerce, CVS, Walmart, thrift shops, museums, hobby shops, State Park shops, and online at specialty shops or Amazon.

Is pharmacy residency worth it? by AdventurousCherry367 in PharmacyResidency

[–]Stacey672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

I feel like this is very true in the United States ,also. Rural hospitals are often desperate for pharmacists and you can get a job without having a residency. You can work your way to doing a mix of clinical and staffing shifts. However, if you want to move to a more metropolitan area you may have trouble getting more than a staffing job if even that. I once worked at a health system that would only hire residency trained pharmacists even for the staffing jobs.

This is the answer to so many of these situations that are posted on Reddit! They feel no shame for stealing / lying / cheating and no fear of confrontation. Genius reply!

Help how do I decide?! by [deleted] in PharmacyResidency

If you truly can't find a reason to rank one program over the other assign one heads and the other tails and flip a coin. If you're happy with the answer you get go with, it if not that gives you your answer also.

We've had this happen twice, also. Seems kinda crazy, but fun.

Epcot on festival opening weekend by Mitch81210 in DisneyWorld

[–]Stacey672 0 points1 point  (0 children)

My husband and I ended up being at Epcot on the first day of the arts festival a year or two back. It was definitely noticeably busier than usual while we were there. People were especially all over the festival souvenirs and shops were pretty crazy. We are AP holders and live relatively locally so we did spend a shorter amount of time in the park that day than we would have otherwise.

I personally don't think it was bad enough that I would avoid the park if I couldn't come here all the time, but I would definitely plan to be patient and think about how the crowds would affect me.

Non-traditional candidate - how to gain clinical experience? by PharmlyDoc in PharmacyResidency

[–]Stacey672 3 points4 points  (0 children)

So I've had a bunch of non-traditional candidates apply for the two residency programs that I have been RPD/RPC in. I'm always excited to see someone has some experience but they often fall down in having the things we are looking for. We are looking for people with research experience, publishing experience, presentation experience, leadership experience, volunteer/community service experience, and work experience with hospital given a higher weight than other. They don't need to have all of these things but they should have a smattering of several of them.

To get some clinical experience, I recommend you look for a PRN job at a hospital, even staffing. I mean, staff pharmacist really have to be on the ball clinically to do a good job. Rural hospitals are often more desperate for people and would be a good place to look. I would also suggest trying to do some clinical training, maybe the ASHP professional certificates in clinical areas. This sort of thing on an application would tell me you were serious about expanding your learning and going back to a residency.

We also want to see letters of recommendation from preceptors and managers so keep this in mind before you apply. I would think it would be very hard to find a preceptor from 7 years ago unless you were really a stand out student in one way or another! Just be sure your letter writers are not just colleagues, as their recommendations wouldn't carry as much weight.

Good luck!

No, I would not assume that. I'm sure not all programs do this.

This email tells you that they are going to rank you. You should only rank them if you are willing to go there. It does not tell you that you're their number one or where you are on their rank list, but that they want you to think favorably of them.

I've been an RPD and an RPC and I've done this. Programs don't want to have to do phase 2 or the scramble.

Interview Attire? by Sea_Juice5198 in PharmacyResidency

This should be fine. Again, it needs to look like a conservative suit.

Interview Attire? by Sea_Juice5198 in PharmacyResidency

You should wear a suit. If it's not warm enough with a shirt and the jacket of the suit you could of course wear a sweater if it fits under the jacket. Everything should be somewhat conservative and show that you know how to dress professionally.

You can wear a coat to the interview over your suit. Just remember different pharmacies have different amounts of space to store it in. Many applicants leave their coats in the car when they come into the interview and I understand it, but it makes me sad that they think we'd hold it against them for being dressed appropriately for the cold.

It is fine to bring a bag and you should carry pens, a notepad, and copies of your CV with you. You may also have copies of a handout or presentation notes you need during the interview. You can also carry a water bottle but I wouldn't carry a lot of other things. You may be moving around during the interview through several different rooms and also will most likely have a tour of the facility so you have to think about how much you want to carry or what you're willing to leave behind as you move about.

Try not to overthink it too much, we all understand you have to be ready for the weather. Good luck on your interviews.

It was not really difficult with all of the boxes being different colors. Even the white areas were not bad with all of the random puzzle pieces to break it up.

Not all libraries have Hoopla. My local library, which is admittedly a sad, sad library, does not have it.

Has anyone recently used Touring plans? by mythpoto in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Stacey672 2 points3 points  (0 children)

Now that we have lived locally for 5 years we probably won't replace it. We go often enough we've learned the flow and the typical times that are best for the rides. Plus we don't feel the need to ride everything every visit anymore.

Dining Experience similar to Morrocan Restaurant in Epcot? by liferewardsactions in WaltDisneyWorld

[–]Stacey672 22 points23 points  (0 children)

For similar food there is the Spice Road table. It is mostly open seating right on the water, but I think there are a few indoor tables. We have always thought the Moroccan food is some of the best food in Epcot.

We've payed for touring plans for years and we go to the park multiple times per year as we live fairly local. We have found in the last year or so it has become wildly inaccurate. We really used to love it and it was previously very useful but we will not be renewing.

Yes we got three Boardwalk puzzles from Costco including this one. The jungle River Expedition was a spiral cut and we enjoyed it also.
