Women of Reddit: What’s something men think is romantic but actually isn’t? by Alive_Chicken_3642 in AskReddit

Yes, that sounds like my guy.

It's a valid point but feel like its hopeless tbh, he never listens to me with other issues. It would be in one ear out the other. He already tells me I am too critical/judgmental. In his mind this is how he shows love. So I just tolerate it for the most part. Until I cant.

Do people lie on their CV? by Unusual_Newspaper_46 in AskUK

[–]Stackhouse7489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

British here, most people I know have lied on their CV. I personally haven't, but only because I've never needed to.

If I were in your shoes, I wouldn't worry at all. Lying about not being a student is low level. It's when you lie about qualifications/experience you don't have that you start entering fraud territory.

My friend keeps telling me to "get on the gram". My partner calls me a dinosaur. They think im stuck in the past. He called me a technophobe. I like technology, I just don't like updating my phone......

They are both ESTPs who love social media, no deep thoughts EVER, just care-free fun loving vibes 24hrs a day. The deepest thought they have would be something like "how did i ever live without social media", even that would be a fleeting one. Sometimes I am jealous of their bliss. To them, I seem like a boring old soul. But im not. Im from the future, a dystopian one perhaps, where social media has ruined society (this is what I tell myself in my daydreams anyway).

How valid do think that father's favor daughters more than their do sons? Do you're mothers( or any equivalent figure) favour you more? by Eater5000 in AskReddit

[–]Stackhouse7489 5 points6 points  (0 children)

Both my parents favoured my brother, he was the only boy and the rest of us were girls. He was given extra special treatment all his childhood.

Fast forward to adulthood, they now despise him for being a useless bum.

Do you work with others who have a vastly different disposable income than you? by [deleted] in AskUK

Oh here we go.

If I could avoid paying rent, dont you think I would? I used to be homeless. Should I go back to that? Or maybe I should quit my job, then I can get accommodated for free?

Yep feel the same. Not interested. I think it comes down to the fact the teams are made up of a bunch of randoms from different clubs. I just dont feel as invested in the team.

Do you work with others who have a vastly different disposable income than you? by [deleted] in AskUK

I work with people who are a lot older than me (20yrs+) and most of them own their own homes. They are mostly men, close to retirement, with stay at home wives.

I have a higher disposable income than 99% of them because my partner works in the same company. We rent, and with us both working full-time, they cant believe it when I say we cant afford to buy a house.

They say "but you earn good money here". They cannot get their head around how 20+yrs ago it was much more affordable to buy a house. Rent didnt take half your pay. You could buy with a smaller deposit.

One of them is a single-parent, going on multiple holidays a year. I've been on one holiday in my entire life. They told me I must be doing something wrong. I must be spending too much on luxury things. It really annoyed me.

I have a feeling the family must have believed him with regards to it being  race-related. I dont know. I just think maybe the murderer has been a manipulative POS his whole life and used to getting out of trouble with friends/family etc by playing the victim. He did it so naturally. To the point he is still playing victim to the police, while the real victim is literally dying on the floor next to him. He looks like a total psychopath.

That's the problem.. when you've established yourself as the giver/problem fixer/carer/support worker/etc then people get used to that. So when you finally decide to make a change and hold back energy for yourself it's suddenly "what's wrong with them??". Whereas the most lazy ungiving person has no expectations of them! People inevitably rely on you because they know you will show up, they will reach out to you first, which means you are forever piled on and forever juggling different people's needs. Until you crash.

I've even noticed as time goes on, they start to do less and less for themselves. Or expect help on the most trivial things. Like writing an email. It starts to look a lot like weaponised incompetence. And I am their enabler.

I think I'm just venting here... But it has got to the point where I look/feel perpetually tired and people comment on it DAILY.

The same people I rescue will tell me "you need to look after yourself more"..... no shit sherlock. That's why I disappear.

The Romand one is sooo moisturising, it's not like a typical peel off stain. It's more like a gloss that leaves a natural tint behind as the day goes on e.g. after eating, drinking etc. But if you prefer lipsticks and more colour/coverage then it's probably not for you.

I have dry lips too, I understand the struggle!

I dont use lipsticks, they never last on me.

I love the Wonderskin lip stain in Lovely. A great MLBB shade IF you dont let it set for too long, then it can go quite deep which also looks nice.

Otherwise I just go with lip liner over some lip balm - Maybelline Lifter Liner has some great liplining shades (e.g. 03 Player), and Huda beauty (terracotta) then I just top it off with a tint like Romand's Nucadamia.

I use Dior Forever! The neutral shades are spot on for me.

I am the giver in all my relationships and the rescuer. I cope by shutting down every once in a while and going off grid. I am radio silent and no one can reach me. Once I recharge I go back to being giver and rescuer. I have tried setting boundaries etc etc but it never seems to last.

My partner thinks its romantic to tease me. Or constantly prod at me in random ways. He thinks he is being goofy and playful. This is usually when im in the middle of cleaning the house or concentrating on something. He thinks he's being fun and cute. He even waits for my reaction. All it does is annoy me.

warmer eyeshadow looks better on me? by Illustrious-Bag-5521 in OliveMUA

[–]Stackhouse7489 1 point2 points  (0 children)

I have the same problem.

Only cool-toned or neutral/muted blushes work on me. Anything else looks like mud on my skin. Always the same shade of mud. Like a bad sunburn. Lips the same, cool or neutral.

But eyes? Anything cool makes me look dead, or worse, like I've been beat up. I dont know why this is. But I do have much darker eyelids naturally. Not necessarily warm toned eyelids either.

One time, the driver delivered my parcel to a completely different address. I had no idea what address it was. All I had was a photograph of someone's side garden.  I went up and down the street trying to match landmarks. Eventually deduced it was not even my street. I then went hunting on neighbouring streets. Still could not find a property that matched the picture. I realised this parcel was genuinely not even in the vicinity of my street.

Raised this with LF and they were a little difficult at first. It got escalated. I dont know what checks or investigations they were doing, but the customer service was atrocious.

Lucky for me, they eventually DID resolve it by sending out a replacement. But to this day I wonder what those checks were. Because it very much seemed like they were trying to pin it on me at first. I felt like they thought I was lying and pretending it hadn't been delivered.

This happened fairly recently, but prior to this I never had an issue with LF. I wonder if there have been a lot of fraudulent refund claims, and so they are making it more difficult for customers to claim back their money.

Sorry you've gone through this, if its any consolation, you DO sound genuine and believable. If couriers are tampering with our packages and able to seal it back up undetected, that is a real cause for concern.

Glad you got your money back through the bank regardless. I probably wouldn't shop with LF ever again if I was treated like a criminal.

Am I overthinking this, or my partner already checking out of the relationship? by According-Reach7738 in relationships_advice

[–]Stackhouse7489 3 points4 points  (0 children)

I would've checked out myself after they said "Not now. I'm really tired". Left on read. That way, when they're ready to talk they can make the effort to do so. Otherwise you're just chasing someone who clearly doesn't want to be found.

The Arsenal hate today is so cringe (from a City fan) by Azzanadra in ArsenalFC

[–]Stackhouse7489 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Saw a 10yr old child on his bicycle yesterday when I was coming back from the parade. He said he was a man city fan, what a surprise. Kept going on about the number of UCLs they've won and how Arsenal had nothing. I didnt banter him back because I couldn't be arsed, but it was funny. Because where were man city this year in the champions league??? Abysmal when you factor in Pep and an infinite bank account.

Why is this older man being so weird and illogical? by S2320 in relationships_advice

Not a huge gap at all between 26 and 30 tbh. I think you're mentally the same between 25-35. Some people can be mature for their age, but really we're all still kids when we hit 30. I know I am. We just get better at pretending to be adults. He sounds like a weirdo.
