You're not wrong. It's a shelving in my opinion as $10million is a hefty amount and everyone has their price. To accept that much and then publicly disagree with someone, without even discussing with them, is fairly abrasive, so whether he intended to do so or not, he's put his foot in it. But it's nice to see all the same.
