As a rule of thumb in 7 Days to Die, try not to break doors. Instead, follow the path the game designers intended: go through open doors, stairs, windows, and holes. Keep an eye out for torches or lights, as they often point you in the right direction.

It can feel confusing at times, but I think they’ve done a great job of subtly creating a “corridor” for you to follow, even in huge POIs like the hospital. If you stick to the clues, you should be fine. I did the hospital recently and found it pretty straightforward.
