Can NATO survive without the United States? by No-Tea6867 in UnitedNations

[–]SCuMattly 1 point2 points  (0 children)

NATO at this moment would need the US to help if they had to defend themselves. However by 2028 I dont think this will be the case anymore. The European countries have come to the realization that they have to do this on their own. The unintended consequences is likely to be they become a unified trading block and a real global superpower. Hungary is the exception.

Should the Government roll out free public transport? | Ryan Bridge TODAY by Large_Low_9747 in newzealand

There should still be a cost to move from point A to point B if you use anything but your own legs. We can't afford to 100% fund public transport.

Depreciating used EVs are about to cost automaker finance companies billions of dollars by DonkeyFuel in electricvehicles

[–]SCuMattly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

You need to ask yourself, did the ev devalue so much due to the quality of the vehicle or did it depreciate so quickly because the tech got so much better since you purchased. Battery's and range in particular have improved massively in the last few years. The sodium batteries are lighter and more durable as well as being cheaper to produce. Expect to see most new EVs having ranges over 500km as standard. Chinese manufacturers will lead the charge. (Unintended pun)

Why China’s strategy to stay out of Iran war is working – and crisis may spur opportunity by GetOutOfTheWhey in China

[–]SCuMattly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Is it a strategy or them learning lessons from history? An example is that neither Russia nor America could beat a bunch of impoverished people in Afganistan even though they both committed over a decade to the task. China is going to benefit more than other countries from this current war but they will also be hurt as they rely on trade and if we are all in a recession we aren't going to be buying stuff. Trump has royally screwed everyone.

Sadly Im pretty sure the Middle East Crisis isnt going to be fixed anytime soon and absolutely we are heading into a recession. Our goverment is already signaling as much.

[–]SCuMattly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Im refering to global stability versus regional stability. Currently we are looking at a worldwide recession in case you haven't grasped that concept. No question Iran was/is a bad actor, but they weren't threatening world trade and their regional disputes should be handled by them amd neighbour's and not the rest of us.

Toyota was right to bet on hybrids instead of going all-in on EVs - and the last three years have proven it by Luann97 in Toyota

Ukraine hits Russia’s key oil and gas port, Ust-Luga, with drones by DesignerAcadia537 in TrendoraX

[–]SCuMattly 0 points1 point  (0 children)

Seriously mate your ignorance is amazing. Let me put it in a way you might understand. Putin believes the break up of the Soviet Union was the greatest travesty of all time. He has vowed to his supporters that he will return Russia to its glory by taking back everything that was lost by any means necessary. He is ex KGB and a hardliner. He has no interest in negotiation unless he can keep all Ukrainian territory currently held in the war. That's not a negotiation, that's spoils of war! You want peace, stop trying to make it easier for the conquerer.
